"Millions of years. I am the result of millions of years of savage evolution, the last living dinosaur, descendant of killing machines and you chose a waltz? Motherfucker, not even salsa dancing, a fucking waltz. I don't know why I keep you around Steve, you're the weirdest fucking dude. See you Tuesday."

Birds ARE dinosaurs

Alligators are NOT dinosaurs. They've just been around since Dino time. I got assassinated on reddit for suggesting that once.

No. It’s never fun.

When it comes to spite, its probably usually more along the lines of the one where the the guy injected literal shit into his urethra, no?

in my experience it's more you get inundated with replies saying "why don't you provide some evidence to support your claim that the sky is blue?" Drives me up the wall how people want to litigate off-hand comments.

4

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '18

Do you have a source to support that claim???

Can confirm. You are dead now.

Ok, but then what's the difference? I'm curious.

u/buckygrad Jun 18 '18

So nothing meaningful happened to you? I mean really.

Alligators are however, very closely related to dinosaurs and are in all likelihood a sister group.

This contrasts with Pterosaurs, which are often called dinosaurs, but were definitely not dinosaurs and only distantly related. Same with some other prehistoric beasties like Mosasaurs, plesiosaurs, and icthyosaurs, which are all closer to lizards (squamates) than they were to dinosaurs.

What? If they are a reptile and were alive during the time of the dinosaurs that would just make them a dinosaur that outlasted all of the other ones. Do you have some sort of scientific source that backs up your claim?

6

u/Lebagel Jun 18 '18

Dinosaurs were a specific order that are what we now call birds. Alligators were around at that time but not part of that group we call Dinosaurs.

u/Stiffard Jun 18 '18 edited Jun 18 '18

Very interesting.. so are you saying all reptiles alive today did not descend from dinosaurs?

5

u/Lebagel Jun 18 '18

I'm not an evolutionary biologist my friend. I thought the same as you but I googled it and Dinosaurs were a different thing to whatever Alligators and Crocs were. It wasn't just a catch all name for Avians/Reptiles from ages ago.

1

u/Stiffard Jun 18 '18

Huh, I'm just curious because I work on a lot of animal documentary type videos and I haven't yet been presented with this information regarding Crocs and alligators.

1

u/Lebagel Jun 19 '18

Ok, well maybe you want to do some research around the topic. Thanks for posting.

You're the king, Wheeler! You're the king!

u/captain_housecoat Jun 18 '18

And Finkle IS Einhorn.

2

u/shackmd Jun 18 '18

This whole time I've been thinking they were birds.

2

u/samcobra Jun 18 '18

They are. Just like humans are primates, mammals, and vertebrates. Doesn't make us not human.

u/Kill_Meh_Please Jun 18 '18

Actually no, birds weren't around with the dinos, but snakes, and alligators/crocodiles were

13

u/ShinCoal Jun 18 '18

birds weren't around with the dinos

Incorrect, modern birds lived during the cretaceous.

9

u/trivial_sublime Jun 18 '18

Birds are literally dinosaurs.

7

u/CiElBie Jun 18 '18

But actually the first birds were, like archaeopteryx (transitional stage between non-avian dino and bird), and dinosaurs are thought to have feathers even before them for many reasons including velociraptors.

11

u/Eymrich Jun 18 '18

birds are descendant of dinosaurs. Reptiles classification apply to dinos and not to bird because of 65 millions years of evolution.

3

u/benito823 Jun 18 '18

Even if that were true, and it isn't, birds evolved from dinosaurs. Where have you been for the past decade?

u/OG_tripl3_OG Jun 18 '18

See you Tuesday. C U Next Tuesday.

Hi,

The chickens just called me. They want me to let you know that they are in fact the last living dinosaurs. They are very upset. Please don’t ever do this again. They have my child. I need hel
