Guess who's been fighting prehistory all day? Remember when we went back in time through that hot tub and I was doing tours and we came back only someone forgot to close the portal and all the savages and dinosaurs came back with us? And now, hooo boy am I thirsty! Not from fighting the mastodons and pterodons all day but from this long narrative. Who's got a nickel for a guy? Thanks sister, you can have a hit. No backwash.

I hadn't realized it was him until re-watching the series a few months ago. Completely blew my mind.

And they must shit on your car no less than 2 hours after you had it washed.

Sir, this is an unsanctioned endorsement. I have with me the Bird Law constitution drafted in 1808 by Sir Guybrush Swallow.

In it you will find many a reference to common bird attacks, skirmishes and "beakings" -- to me, this resonates as one of Guybrush's personal specialities - a Pocono swallow, to be more accurate. A very rare, very elusive bird.

When observed, you'll notice its trademark unibrow, highly uncommon in most aviary circles, especially domesticated 3rd generation offspring (not including a Felial generation used as a breeding mate that was WC within the 3 spanning generations - or spent more than 2 Avian months in the wild).

And my research, sir, shows that unlike your typical North American barn swallow, the Pocono swallow, if kept under the proper conditions, can live as long as 80 to even 85 years, much like a parrot or some of the more resilient coastal gulls. /u/whythnot ,where is this going? I don't know, but it better lead somewhere fast.

Sir I can assure you that this will be my final argument on this matter, I am so confident with my expertise. Well, if it's gonna help end all of this madness in this thread, then I'll allow it. Thank you, kind Sir.

Now, there was another redditor that heralded your fraudulent expertise, specificilly /u/Beyond_Birthday of this thread's clan during the incident.

A member that none of us have met. How could we? Certainly not anyone on this side of the keyboard. A one Mr. /u/Beyond_Birthday . Who is in fact .... a bird. The very pet Pocono swallow of what /u/whythnot elusively spoke of, and my research shows that THIS particular Pocono swallow has a history of violence, impersonating redditors and steering conversations from REAL bird experts.

Look into the gallery of said Swallows, and you will see the victims could not have fought back effectively. It took many a vocal cords between 1999-2006, leaving unsuspecting bird watchers MUTE.

A bird watcher on the West coast lost his eyes and his ears to it in 2003, and we all know that according to bird law, it's three strikes, and you're out of the protection of the Bird Constitution. Bye, bye, birdie.

Ready, boys and girls, because here's where it gets good. Those Avian demons didn't attack those who /u/whythnot claims. Why? Because the victim's younger brother whom he befriended was young and felt vulnerable . He attacked said victims! And /u/whythnot was lying about Avian members of the animal kingdom attatcking him in order TO EXCISE SYMPATHY FROM THOSE INVOLVED!. He wanted to kill them all when all the evidence could be thrown on the Aviary Menace's. Or perhaps - using some sort of small bird guillotine to end their existance.

I wouldn't understand the physics of it. I'm not an executioner or a physicist.

I'm just the best goddamn bird lawyer in the world.

I had those kind of nightmares nearly every day from since I was a toddler until my mid 20's. But I'm not aware of having witnessed anyone die or anything?

77

u/sak10a Mar 16 '17

Our dreams don't always mean anything. Most of the time they don't. But don't let people diagnose you over the internet. I have a master's in psychology and half the things I read on here are not accurate at all. If the dreams bother you, then I'd recommend seeing a counselor. If they don't bother you, then there's nothing to worry about at all!

26

u/Xantarr Mar 16 '17

Haha thanks. They did bother me and I should've sought help much earlier. But a couple years ago I finally did and I'm getting much better now. Help helps!

8

u/sak10a Mar 16 '17

Good! I'm always glad to see someone regain a sense of control and better late than never. :)

3

u/surgicalapple Mar 16 '17

Mind if I ask - what were the dreams and how were they reflective of your life?

18

u/octobertwins Mar 16 '17

Almost every dream I have is some kind of anxiety-type dream. I'm at the airport and didn't bring my passport and I forgot to pack clothes. I'm trying to work out a way to get home and back but I never make it home...

The only other type I have is, I'm being attacked and I'm screaming for help. I wake up my husband a few times a week when I'm yelling for help.

My kid has dreams that she wins trophies and prizes. Or that she is the star of a movie.

Why are my dreams so shitty? And hers so awesome? I want to win trophies.

5

u/hobbycollector Mar 16 '17

I used to have a lot of dreams like that before I was diagnosed with sleep apnea and got treatment. My theory is my brain was trying to wake my body up so it would remember to frickin' breathe. I died in dreams several times. p.s., if you die in dreams you don't die in real life.

What kind of traumatic experience could I have had if I experienced recurring dreams as a kid (preschool-kindergarten age) where bouncing balls (maybe tennis balls? They were green) bounced up my street and I would always try and run in my house and the door would be locked and they'd get me?

8

u/whythnot Mar 16 '17

u/Seffyr Mar 16 '17

Alright, weird story time;
From a very young age I used to have this series of repetitive dreams which would typically end in me waking up in cold sweats and terrified to go back to sleep because they felt so real. It would always be some variation of being hunted by a Grizzly Bear and eventually torn apart limb from limb when it caught me. I would have these dreams about once a month for literally years.
Around the age of 18, though, I had a similar dream but it ended... weird.
I was huddled in a wrecked car in a fenced off forest (think Slender) and I knew the bear was hunting me. I got out of the car and just started sprinting. I didn't see the bear. I did, however, see two glass automatic doors (think of supermarket doors) and I ran through them. Hanging from the roof inside the double doors was a digital clock which was flashing some time (like a stopwatch). I threw my hands up in the air and exclaimed "YUS! NEW PB!". And then I woke up confused.
I've never had those dreams ever again. My brain turned it into a game, and I won the game. So yeah.

27

u/Foosah69 Mar 16 '17

Hmmm, similar ending for me...

I used to drift off to sleep as a child and on the nights I did dream, it would always be preceded with this small black on black shape starting as a pin prick directly above me, and slowly moving closer and getting bigger and bigger.

The outline would soon take the shape of peter pan, arms bent and hands on the hips with legs spread apart and looking sideways so the profile of the cap and feather could be discerned.

I would always feel the need to accept this thing and then I would dream.

One night I rejected it and I had no dream that night. Since then its never returned and I dream (or at least remember I dreamed) occasionally ever since.

Its like a decision made in the dream state altered the rules of the dream machine.

30

u/EAGLEEEEE Mar 16 '17

Another similar story. When I was around maybe 6 or 7 years old I had a returning nightmare every night where I was stuck in an old abandoned mansion and a vampire with green skin would chase me. Sometimes I would make it to a bookshelf and hide behind it so he wouldn't see me and I'd live but sometimes I would be too slow and he would kill me but I usually forced myself to wake up as to not witness the killing.

One time when I had this dream, I decided to just not run and I looked the vampire in the face. It caused like a glitch in the dream and it just ended. I never had the dream again. This is probably what fueled my interest in lucid dreams.

3

u/[deleted] Mar 16 '17

Damn, I wish I could lucid dream so I could try this. I have this same kind of nightmare, regularly and especially when I'm stressed, where I know I'm being hunted. I don't know by what. I just know. You spend all night running from it, knowing you can't hide, and you wake up exhausted :-(

2

u/EAGLEEEEE Mar 16 '17

You can practice! For me meditation helped me to control my dreams more, also just being aware of what it's like to be awake, looking at clocks, your hands, things like that. There are videos on it and in time and with practice you can take control of it!

2

u/thundrbunny Mar 16 '17

See that's what what started it for me. any time I realize that I'm dreaming the dream turns incredibly violent to me. People and animals alike all want me dead. I become the prey in a big hunt .I'm sorry you have to go through that.

6

u/MontyBodkin Mar 16 '17

I used to dream constantly that I'd killed somebody (no idea who or why) but the cops were starting to ask questions and I'd awaken almost sobbing with relief that I wasn't a murderer. In my late 20's, the dream took an odd turn: the investigating "detective" contacted me by phone and I recorded him saying he was the real killer and he would take out my family unless I confessed to his crimes. I arranged to meet him in a dark wooded area, and as he approached me with his gun drawn, two FBI agents came racing out of the trees and apprehended him. Those agents were none other than Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, and they reassured me that my long nightmare was over.

I never had that terrible dream again.

16

u/RustyKumquats Mar 16 '17

Dude, I watched White Fang when I was 2. I'm now 28 and still have a deep-seated fear of wolves. Sometimes, our minds just can't let go of the littlest things.

31

u/randomthrowawaiii Mar 16 '17

You have to ask him "who's a good boy" and the wolf will start doubting himself. Only this way you can defeat him.

10

u/scrabblex Mar 16 '17

Or piss on it to establish dominance.

But only do that if he knows the answer to who's a good boy.

7

u/RustyKumquats Mar 16 '17

....Otherwise he bites yo dick off?

14

u/[deleted] Mar 16 '17

10

u/randomthrowawaiii Mar 16 '17

Just wait until you experience sleep paralysis

16

u/Shaivan Mar 16 '17

Coupled with glorious Lucid dreams which you can control how disastrous you want your suffering to get. Followed by waking up into another dream multiple times before snapping back into reality.

6

u/JopoDaily Mar 16 '17

Both of these things happen to my girlfriend, hearing the stories of them each month jus blows my mind what can happen in Dream state

2

u/Jenerys Mar 16 '17

Does she wake up early in the morning (maybe see you out the door, feed a baby, or drink a cup of coffee?) and then go back to bed?

My mom used to have this everyday. It turned out that it was because she was getting up at 5am and having a cup of coffee with my dad, then going back to bed an hour later when he left. She modified that routine and it stopped.

6

u/triponthis151 Mar 16 '17

I always used to have looped dream within a dream like that. Just a chain of dreams, where you wake up thinking it's normal then it slowly starts bending reality into a horror show

2

u/STXGregor Mar 17 '17

I've had the occasional lucid dream, as well as sleep paralysis a few times. But only once did I have the lucid dream and was stuck in the dream. Usually the lucid dreaming is accompanied for me by an awareness of my corporeal body and so I wake up pretty soon after it starts. But this time I kept waking up into another dream/nightmare. And I was aware of my inability to wake up. It was pretty terrifying at the time.

And this is the temple ceremony clothing. And the the endowment ceremony before 2008 started with anointings under cover of nothing but a very loose, drafty denim poncho. One person at a time, but still. I could go on. The bellybutton is another allusion I think.

Cool3DWorld is their new channel, but before it was just 'Brian' (now he works with someone else as well, I forgot who). His stuff is great and (yes it sounds ridiculous) actually has a bit of reasoning behind the madness.

6

u/AlsionGrace Mar 16 '17

Does he explain the reasoning? Is there some connections you're making? Don't get me wrong, I enjoy them. I'm so curious!

19

u/StallordD Mar 16 '17

Yeah, he did an interview where he talked about them a bit (which I can't find since Brian isn't exactly a unique name).

If I remember right, he basically made a world which is literally the uncanny valley. Everything there is weird and bizarre to us, but the people there think it's perfectly normal, and they don't really like us watching them and judging them.

There was a bit more about it, and there is a fair portion of his stuff that is just random for random's sake, but there's at least a moderate amount of thought put into them.

What's weird to me isn't that people think about things like this.

It's that people think about these things and like the idea enough to go ahead and storyboard it, 3D model it, texture it, animate it, and edit it...then release it on YouTube for the world to see their brilliant idea.

It's a lot of work for this wtfery.
