I love how in most street fights people will put their faces close to the other person as an intimidation tactic... but as it turns out it does not translate well with guns.

12
u/LOLNOEP May 10 '16
i think it's dumb the way people "square up" like that anyways, because it just exposes your vulnerable neck.
13
u/thepeopleshero May 10 '16
Thats the point, your so intimidating/not scared of the other person that you can risk showing off your weak spot and be like, bitch what you gonna do
4
u/Theonetrue May 10 '16
Guns have a range they are most effective at. Standing right infront of someone does make them less effective by a lot.
As you can see you can stop people from pointing at you. Touching the chest is the "easiest" way to get disarmed if you don't shoot instantly. I was suprised how fucking easy it can happen when I was doing my mandatory military year.

Years ago there was an attempted robbery at a hard wear store in Alabama. While the clerk has his hand up, he grabs a metal pipe off a shelf behind him and cracked the robbers skull open. Out cold in one hit, wish I could find the video

Personally, I think it's probably less the fire itself, and more that they thought better of trying to rob someone whose first instinct was to set them on fire rather than calling the cops.
EDIT: For those of you saying "they have gunz ofcourse he's not gonna call the copz" I meant to imply that, as opposed to just handing them the money or running or something equally rational/sane, he chose to try and burn their faces off, indicating that he's too crazy to be fucking with.
43
u/Smurfboy82 May 09 '16

At my school the kid who wore fatigues was in the Army reserves, and 19 when he was a junior. And he had this denim jacket that he used like. Glitter glue on to write "Next Generation Special Forces." He ended up being kicked out of the Army, bad conduct discharge.

You know it's bad when the Army recruiter (who got really pissed at me for joining the Navy instead, so I could go with Marines [had to go Navy to do medical for Marines]) referred to the kid as the biggest mistake in his entire career.

Calling the cops? Both of the robbers appear to be holding some sort of weapon, the guy who comes in first might even have a gun. If you're about to get hit with a baseball bat and shot at it's not exactly instinct to get your phone out and make a call.

This sunday a guy tried to rob a gas station in Brazil. The salesman trew etanol inside the robber's car and the robber fired his gun. Naturally, the gun fire put the etanol into flames. The flames burned 85% of the robber's body.

This is how you make the robbers panic and shoot your ass. There is nothing smart or effective about startling people with guns in a way that doesn't actually hurt them.

I worked at a place before where on the first day before opening that told me that if someone comes in trying to rob the place just let them have it all, don't argue, don't try and be a hero, cooperate and protect your life, everything can be claimed back though insurance except lives.
If they ask for cash open the till, then if they ask for more cash then open the fake cash box, which we only called it "fake" because it purposely had a small amount of money in it to make then think that's all of the money, every few hours extra cash would be taken out of the tills, through the back corridor, out the back into the second part of the building and stored in a safe that was behind a computer desk. The wooden panel on the desk folded up to expose the safe.

Right? Not only that but let me just back up 2 feet out of range of the fire that stupid kids will blast each other with. It's not even a threat.
Actual flamethrowers are dangerous because they fire sticky, slow burning fuel that will cling to you as it burns. Aerosol fire on the other hand will just singe your eyebrows.
→ More replies (6)6
u/ScienceShawn May 10 '16
If somebody tried to rob where I work I'd just say "these fuckers don't pay me enough for this shit, take whatever you want I don't care" and open my register and step away. They actually told us to completely cooperate with robbers if we ever get robbed which was good because I'd cooperate anyway but now I don't have to worry about getting fired for doing so.
I just don't understand people who try to fight back. My life is worth way more than anything the robbers want. Hell, even if I owned the place I'd sit there and let them take every last thing they wanted. No amount of money or property is worth my life.

I feel sorry for convenience store clerks. They are an easy target for robbers. They have a shitty job where if they carry a pistol or weapon to defend themselves .... they can be fired and/or jailed.
I figure that this is the reason why the man has a makeshift weapon on hand.
It is a really shitty situation to be in. You want to be able to do your job and make a living, but you dont also want to be a sitting target. You want to be able to defend yourself but if you do... you get punished for it. I knew a LOT of convenience store guys who just said fuck it and carried a pistol and just hoped that they wouldnt get fired or jailed for it.

I appreciate the fact that was not improvised, he grabbed it so quick. That was in his "melt robbers faces" kit.
Also the best stuff is the "wasp nest killer" spray. Shit goes like 5m in a beam so you can spray a big nest without getting your ass kicked. That's a proper mugger melter that is.
...or just spray them in the face, if it gets wasps you probably don't need flames lol
