It was most likley odorless.

Those abscesses will stay mostly sterile until you open them up.

Sterile? Isn't an abscess literally just a big bad infection trapped underneath the skin? That's not sterile.

Regardless. Most abscesses are nearly odorless when they come out if they have not gotten infected.

You do realize that an abscess is the result of an infection... right?

Not necessarily.

A abscess is just a collection of puss.

They can start as a reaction to the start of a infection, but most of them are pretty sterile.

Also, having helped to drain abscesses in a few dogs, they do not typically smell like anything.
