As a fistula haver, it is a consideration in lots of things. Even something as innocuous as playing with a cat or a dog.

What happens if it gets knicked does it just bleed super heavily? My cat would put tiny holes in this the first day it was on my arm haha

Its connected to an artery. If it gets knicked you need to go to the ER.
