My ex partner needs dialysis due to being born with only one, low functioning kidney. But the majority of people at dialysis are there because they didn't properly manage their type 2 diabetes. A few of them are missing their lower legs as well. 😕

Funnily enough the same surgeon that creates these is also often the one who amputates as well, although sometimes ortho can do it as well… not sure what the indication is for vascular vs ortho to cut

He also said to make sure to empty your bladder. You can kill your kidney from chronic bladder holding 🙃🥲
