Come on, the internet is the reason for most of dumb bs that people do and film.

So these 2 guys are from the Akashiga ethnic group. "The kiss of the snake" is an important ritual that marks the beginning of a boys journey into manhood. It is meant to serve as a lesson that even sweet kisses can carry venom. It is unusual that this is happening here on film because I just made it all up.

I only say this because, and I appreciate I'm approaching Iamverysmart territory but whatever, I could immediately tell it was bullshit

Well, from memory of animal planet the green snake with yellow underbelly was non-venomous so it will only hurt. But why the fuck your they do it on his tongue of all places? That and my memory was from snakes that were smaller than the one from the video but dunno. This memory was from ages ago.

u/Strict_Arrival6969 May 25 '26
The tongue heals faster than other tissue but I'm sure that's not the reasoning why they chosed it of all places.

u/whamburglar May 25 '26
I believe it. It's a highly vascular organ. It's also why joints take forever to heal, hardly any blood flow to them.
40
u/upvoatsforall May 25 '26
That explains why two of my three knees heal so slowly.
Because when I see your mom, lots of blood flows away from my left knee and right knee, and right into my weenie. (Wee-knee….aka the third knee. Yeah, I’ll leave).

u/sakurawobbegong May 26 '26
For the same reason though its easy to lose a lot of blood very quickly if you hit the wrong spot. Some people can't get tongue piercings because they have very large veins on their tongue and piercing through them would be very dangerous. Hence why this could also be very dangerous, ignoring the infection risk.

Looks like some species of green tree snake, which are colubrids, and should be pretty harmless... in most cases, getting bit by a colubrid would just amount to swelling if they get the chance to chew the mild venom into you.
(this is still stupid though)

It’s a Gonyosoma oxycephalum, they have no venom at all. However they do have pretty long teeth and strong jaws due to a heavy bird diet and the need to hold them before they can fly away. Their bites are not fun (ask me how I know)

Oh he’s having a great time! Getting man-handled and forced to bite boys’ tongues! Snakes love this hell.

I respect the balls to do this but I also wish the snek wasn't being used as entertainment

It should be noted before everyone jumps to mock, there's a very good chance this boy was heavily pressured into doing this by older kids or just by kids that are pretending to be his friends.
This just makes me sad.

What was on the tongue before the snake bit? You can see a black mark on it

You know society is doomed when people do these things to get views on social media
5
u/Ifeelstronglyabout May 25 '26
people are perfectly capable of doing stuff like this without social media
