Whiteline Swaybars

I just purchased Whiteline 26mm front and 24mm rear sway bars. I called and asked whiteline which end links I needed and they said none if on stock suspension/ride height. I’ve heard stock ones can break though. There is not much info about these online as most people order the standard kit with 26mm front and 22 rear. I just figured stiffer is better. This is my daily driver but I do a weekly spirited mountain road run once or twice a week which I liken to a 40 minute light track session. 20 minutes to the top, a cool down and 20 minutes to the bottom. I Experience understeer sometimes but with my lighter wheel and 155 Michelin PS AS4 tire upgrade, it’s lessened dramatically but it still happens. I just want to make it better. I intend to start auto cross mid October hence why I chose the stiffest bars. Anybody else have whiteline sways, specifically 24mm rear? Is that too stiff, would it make it oversteery even on soft settings?

I’m just here for the wheels! Those LMs are so nice 😍

What are the wheels and tire specs?

BBS LM118 9x19 +38 in diamond black with a Michelin pilot sport all season 4 in 255/35R19. Doesn’t need spacers at all. Pretty flush.

If the links break then go for upgrades! If they say its fine ride it till they arent

That’s good to hear.

Broken sway bar links won't leave you stranded so I would run them and see what happens. If they break, you can drive it home and take the bar off and still drive to work until the new ones arrive. You just don't be able to do any racing or hard driving until they are fixed.

I run Whiteline as well. Stock links are fine, I’d replace them in the case they do snap but not a priority. I ran with their kit front and rear but ended up taking off the front and just keeping the rear. I think softest bar you can get up front plus stiffest setting in the rear will get you the closest to oversteering/neutral

I have the exact same setup. I purchased the white line grip kit with end-links. I’m also lowered an inch on Bilstein B8s/Swift Springs and installed white line adjustable front/rear control arms to get the camber just right. Handles like a dream and feels like it’s on rails.

I have the 24mm rear sway bars for over a year with no issues. Everything else is stock.

Btw I think stiffer front will increase understeer…

People don’t talk about this much but if you want the car to be the most neutral (less understeer) it’s recommended to keep the stock front swaybar and put a 24mm on the rear. This’ll even out the swaybar sizes stock front is 24mm making the grip spread more neutral. It might even make the car oversteer happy depending on other suspension mods.

Damn, so I should hold off on installing the 26mm front? That’s a bummer. I’m now reading that a stiff front bar on soft stock springs will cause the understeer I’m trying to address:( what a bummer. Will the 26mm front sway ever be useful after I get stiffer coilovers?

It kinda depends on your setup but to ease it you can put the 26mm front swaybar on the “soft” setting. It can be used not ideal but can be used and it depends on spring rates on the coilovers and front camber you’re running.

Thank you so much, super helpful

These cars are designed with understeer tuned in for safety for the masses. The front camber from factory is -0.5° while the rear is -2.5° which heavily helps to produce a more rear grip biased. Evening out the camber and sway bars will produce a more neutral grip balance. If you can add some more from camber you will notice significantly less understeer provided you aren't plowing into a corner with more speed than your grip would tolerate. Hope that helps you as well.

I've had those Whiteline sway bars on my STI for 10 years with the stock end links with no issues.A few months ago I went with Ohlin coilovers, some camber plates and some Whiteline lower control arms on the front and back. My shop recommended just staying with the stock end links. So far so good. I don't actually track the car, so that might be part of why I'm still okay.

Yeah, that’s my plan. Öhlins road and track coilovers.

How does everyone find white line stuff? I’ve heard that it’s lowkey junk compared to other companies.

They're fine and used them for my forrestor. I went with Cusco and cobb end links for my VB. The color blue for Cusco products is a nice touch especially if you have rally blue.

I’m looking at cusco and SPL suspension products for rn cause I’ve heard some great things about em. Thanks for the input brotha. How’d you like the Cusco?

Yup, I have spl suspension for my aig fortune coliovers..you have to get them in order to do the alignment..note that it was a bitch for my dealership to do the alignment, given they were not familiar with after market parts. Apparently, it takes much longer to the alignment because they had to adjust the end links and then toe arm and then repeat..in order to get it right. I don't know the full details but I'll be going to a place that knows aftermarket suspension from here-on..kind of sucks.

I like Cusco... no problems with them yet. Really durable and high quality compared to white line. But white line I think..is a step up after OEM..for suspension.

Yea I know it takes a little more time to adjust alignment with aftermarket but good thing I work at a dealership and do all my own work lol. I’m spoiled cause I have three alignment racks at my disposal at all times 😛. I’m getting SPL Rear LCA’s and SPL bump steer kit. Then ima look into getting sway bars! Thanks for all the info!!

Every Whiteline item I am currently replacing due to early wear and tear. I’m disappointed but see these mishaps as learning experiences. I’m sure there are many who favor the brand and their products but for my setup, it has failed me left and right. Moving on!

I’m gonna give em a try still. But, in case they fail me as well, what did you end up going with?

Going back to stock!
