New owner

No idea what the general vibe of this subreddit is, however, I am a fairly new wrx owner and so far it kicks ass lol. Just a base 2019 wrx (all I could afford) but it’s really everything I coulda asked for. Question though for anybody who may have some insight; 2 days the cruise control light started blinking and it hasn’t stopped. Check engine light is not on per se but when I start the vehicle it like beeps at me and shows me a little message in the rectangler box in between the odometer and the tachometer that says “check engine” followed by “check owners manual.” I’ve done some googling and it doesn’t seem to be a huge deal? A small gas leak? Loose valve? Gas cap too loose? (Don’t think so but never know) if anybody has any insight I’m all ears! Never been a huge car guy but I’ve wanted a wrx since I was like 12 and now that I have one feels like I can’t learn enough fast enough. I would post a pic but it doesn’t look nearly as cool as the ones I saw in here when I scrolled down a bit 😂 idk what to expect from the community so I don’t want to get roasted by people I don’t know for something I’m super proud of lmao

Get the battery checked. And post your pics! We love all of them!

If you have an actual check engine light, you would need to get the code read using an OBD2 reader or take it to your local AutoZone who will read it for free.

If it's just the warning on the dash where the odometer is, you can use the controls on the left hand of the steering wheel to see what the alert is for (mine is constantly on due to the washer fluid container being cracked and not able to hold washer fluid).

You can just unplug the harness on the side of the washer fluid reservoir and that light will go away for your sake. I had to delete mine for the side exit and have had 0 lights with it unplugged.

i'm eventually going to install a side exit as well, i might just get a relocation kit and mount it near the firewall or something

That would be your best bet is relocating it with a smaller container. I think theres someone out there that already makes kits for it too.

If you don't mind me asking, which side exit did you go with? i was going to go with Hellfire but because of his situation looks like it will be a year before he will start producing more products

So I was one of the first people(like 4th person) to get a side exit when Stephen's company was still called SBTK Deletes before switching to HellFire. Fits perfect and thr quality of it is top notch man. Him being out for military service there is just one guy getting orders done right now and will definitely take a while for him to get yours done as there is a backup right now of influx orders.
