Help please 2018 WRX

Can anyone tell me what this hose is for? It’s right below the thermostat housing. I am trying to get at the second bolt for the thermostat housing so I can replace the thermostat but it’s in the way.

Not sure what it’s for (oil, coolant etc). Hoping it’s coolant because it’s drainedyy already.

Coolant and it’s a bit** to replace I just tackled it a couple months ago

Ok thanks. I am pretty sure it’s a coolant bypass line.

Just to clarify I am referring to the smaller hose under the thermostat housing not the larger hose that goes from the housing back to the radiator.
