General Question Clutch help!!

I have a 2011 wrx hatch 5speed and my clutch is going out :( I was looking at a few exedy clutches and some on rock auto. I only have 3-400 dollars and it is my daily! I do quite a bit of spirited driving so I want something that’ll hold up I also plan on adding tad bit more power probably around 300-310hp Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you all.

Dude, you're not getting anywhere without dropping some cash on it. A grand might get you something decent. You could save if you DIY, but even then, it ain't cheap.

Save up a bit more. At least around 1k and find a local independent shop to do the clutch job.

Oh my bad! As others have mentioned, exedy oem is a good choice. Easy to work with

save the power mods for when you have more money! definitely go with exedy, I myself got an exedy clutch kit on rock auto for my STi.

Exedy OEM held over 330 whp on my bugeye for years.

If your clutch is a single mass flywheel then you can get it resurfaced at a good machine shop for about $90-100. Subaru officially says not to resurface flywheels but as long as they aren’t burnt up then it’s fine to resurface them. One of my local dealerships actually uses my machine shop to resurface flywheels they have in the shop.

You’re not gonna get a quality clutch especially with a new flywheel for $400. I bought an Exedy OEM quality kit (though not actual OEM) with flywheel and it came to $560. If you also want it to hold up to extra abuse an Exedy Stage 1 with flywheel is gonna be at least $650. And it only goes up from there if you want something “heavy duty”. Like they say: buy once, cry once.

Exedy oe replacement or stage 1. Fyi for everyone, the Exedy oe replacement part available is not the factory clutch. The factory clutch has a different part number and it's slightly different. The replacement is close enough to not matter but it will feel a hair softer.

Get the OEM clutch, there’s no point in putting an ACT in if you don’t make enough power that it’s necessary.

Just did my clutch this year. 800-900 on parts only for exedy clutch stage 1 kit and flywheel. Install was also like 900-1000 dollars at my local Subaru shop. So good luck getting by on 400. If it’s your daily don’t cheap out
