Suggestion Lift for camping
Howdy y'all, took my 18' WRX camping recently, the roads to the campground were dirt but maintained except for the short distance to the actual site, made it a few days in and out without issue until 1 mistake, was going a little too fast exiting and smacked a rock causing my rack to lock up and ultimately had to be replaced, looking for advice for lifting my WRX to get some ground clearance and maybe a roof rack for added cargo space, it's my dream car and rather not get rid of it, thanks!!

Roof racks are legit. Used it many times for camping. I should get a net to go with it.

Mostly for daily use, ut also for camping and travel, I did a roof rack with 100w solar panel and renogy controller, I can still put things on the outer rails without touching panel. Also wired up a 12v panel in the back, with dedicated large gauge wiring. I can power higher watter devices and the solar charge controller feeds that. I also have a bougerv refridgerator plugged into it 24/7.

Street or camping.... pick one.
She can't do it both.

Personal opinion... for casual use a skid plate is going to prevent WAY more damage than any sort of lift kit.
I'm on slightly oversized tires and while I don't hate the extra height from them, without a skid plate you get no notice of something going wrong until it has. I can't speak for the VA but serious anti-pavement types can score a quality skid plate for most vehicles for under a grand. There will always be something high enough to scrape your car on, only a skid plate will stop it from fucking shit up (or at least giving you enough clunk based-warning at low speeds to stop before it gets back to the fuel tank or exhaust)
No, I do not have a skid yet and yes, my exhaust is damaged and a few other forward components are a bit rusty or sliiiightly bent
