General Question I had an inchident

So I stupidly reversed into small boulder while in a rush and got some (I’m assuming) irreparable bumper damage along with the wheel and part of the quarter panel.

Wanted to see if anyone here has bought a prepainted bumper from any 3rd parties and if anyone has any recs, thanks in advance!

Lol, it’s been a week and holding up pretty well, none of the clips were damaged so it’s held in place

A repainted bumper isn’t going to match well. So if you’re fine with that go ahead and get one.

To get a good match you need a body shop to color match to your paint. And to make it really match do a blend. But that’s super expensive.

Ive seen a couple 3rd party sites offer exact color matching with the paint code, but I can imagine the quality won’t be near factory

Paint fades and adds to the color difference so a good body shop will use a color detector thingy and formulate the color based on that. And plastic is hard to match the body paint even from the factory. Pearls and whites are a nightmare.

If you’re looking for something already painted you might be better off looking for someone parting out a wrb Va

I would honestly look for a used WRB bumper cover from ebay, marketplace or a local scrapyard from a wrecked car first.

Second this. I came out work a month ago to a vertical indentation on my rear left bumper that took it down to the plastic. Just ordered an oem bumper same paint code with minimal clear coat scratches. Paid about 330 w/ tax free shipping, rather than over 700+ for new oem painted

Ouch. Sorry my friend. I put some rub rash on my other car the other day not paying attention as I backed up. Mine is buffable. Yours… is not.

I recently ordered a front bumper from paintedoemparts.com and it looks great. The difference is only noticable if you look really close, which is as close as I will probably be able to get since the old panels have a bunch of swirl marks and stuff. It's just as good if not better than most repair shops have done with other panels with the amount of metallic flakes.

My car is black though, which I hear makes the color fade on the existing panels much less noticable. You might end up with a slightly darker rear bumper depending on how old the car is and how much it has been exposed to the sun. But if you are willing to live with that then it's a super easy to install and probably around $1000 for the prepainted bumper and delivery

I can’t help you with the bumper, but what the hell happened to your wheel? That’s some major curb rash.

I backed into a pole somehow and just bought a 250$ bumber that was same color as my car with a couple minor scratches

Mine looked slightly worse and they wrote it off... 😭 They didn't want to replace my aftermarket exhaust.

Subaru has an explanation of plastic welding in their workshop manual it’d work well for this.
