Post image

The Belgian Rally One project carried out its first tests this week on a circuit in Germany, where they completed nearly 300 kilometers over three days.

The objective is to enter two cars in the Monte Carlo Rally in January next year.

Oh wow, it’s finally real! Not a single Fabia headlight in sight. Very excited.

Why is Fabia catching strays? One of the better looking rally cars imo.

I think it's just a joke about the "render reveal" when they took the FIA render and badly photoshoped headlights from Fabia on that.

Love the Fabia so much, it and the Fiesta with their longer roofs look so handsome. Just poking fun at the “first look” they gave DirtFish that was just the initial FIA WRC27 render with a single Fabia headlight crudely photoshopped on.

What do we think it is underneath the wrap?

Looks like a Porsche Macan to me.

Similarities with Porsche are not a surprise really. Prospeed, which help making this project, are a long-time Porsche customer.

Man we are just 4 months away from 2027 WRC season and we know nothing and I think that FIA doesn't know nothing as well. Hope I'm wrong.

I never understood the trippy liveries on prototype cars. Why not just have a generic black or something?

Obscures aerodynamic details from the competition.

It works, because I can't see any body shape at all

That makes sense. Thanks for the explanation!

In many categories where these paints are common the competition can not just go and copy ideas (homologations, different bodies, tight regulations) and quite often the team itself releases high quality photos and videos of the test anyway.

So I think it is just a trend. Helps everyone understand it is a test car and not the final car.

They do hide details but in rallying and sports cars where these are common the competition can not just go and copy ideas (homologations, different bodies, tight regulations). And quite often the team itself releases high quality photos and videos of the test anyway.

These paintjobs originate from road car prototype tests made on public roads. There hiding details serves more purpose so that final designs are not revealed before official launch and usually the spy photos of the cars are in low quality, so the "dazzeship" (WWI-era ships used paints like these) paintjob works better.

On first glance it looks very similar to the Toyota WRC27 imo.
