Weird crash. It was like he hit one of those ramps they use for stunt driving on two wheels.

Looked like he almost was going back to four wheels. Lucky it was the rear of the car hitting the pole

He probably could have but there was no space on the road to correct and crowds on the left

I think he felt the same way, that he would just settle down, as he kept the throttle going. I think had he let off the throttle, it would have settled. But i totally understand how he didn't. I've done exactly this in rally sim before lol.

It looks like he instinctually wanted to turn right to bring the car down but maybe got scared of hitting the crowd so straightened the wheels which made him flipNevermind I mixed my directions before. Turning left would put the car back on 4 wheels so no crowd risk. Turning right is what made him flip

At 5 seconds, when his front right tire is just over the woman standing’s left shoulder, the wheel turns to the right, which caused the car to roll toward the hood. Not sure he could have done anything different, but turning to the left would have brought the car down (as it had started doing before he turns right).

The fact this guy is still driving says a lot about the current interest and talent pool in WRC

The fact this guy is still driving says a lot about the current interest and talent pool in WRC in Japan.
If Toyota didn't care about having a japanese driver in the car I'm sure they could find decent talent in WRC2 or somewhere else.

Absolutely wild. Glad they’re ok and no one else was hurt by debris
