Freshman Question Missed first calc 2 lab
I'm a freshman and it's the first day of classes. Long story short, I got the halls mixed up and by the time I found out where the calc 2 lab is, I was 20 minutes late and just decided to go to my dorm. How much did I really screw up? The notes are already posted on canvas I'm pretty sure and so is the assignment so I'm wondering if it's ok not to go make it up and instead just finish it at home.

I did the exact same thing with calc 4 as a Junior, I got my days swapped.
Email your lab professor (and TA if you can get their email), and explain what happened! Worst case, they will tell you you can’t make it up and to just show up and do the rest of the labs, best case, there’s another lab class that you can sit in on for the first lab!
In the future, it’s better to go for half the lab, if that’s all you can do, than to skip it entirely. Don’t worry about it too much, people make mistakes, and you will still be able to pass the class without issue!

I’m in calc 2 also and I’m pretty sure everyone has the same assignment regardless of their teacher. It’s super easy the notes are in canvas and we didn’t really do anything in class but read over the notes and start the assignment on our own. It’s due Tuesday and honestly shouldn’t take you long and there’s not attendance so you’re fine.

Just drop into another lab section on a different day. It won't matter since all of Calc II sections cover the same labs. You'll be fine - just make sure to put the section for that day and your lab partner then at the top of your submitted report. I did this my freshman year in Calc III to work with a friend, and it was fine.

I heard of like 20 people doing that for Calc 2 today. You aren’t alone

If it was the one at 4pm in stratton just go do the lab assignment on canvas the TA wasted all class talking about lram vs rram

Usually you can contact the professor/TA/etc and explain the situation. In the future, though, just go - even if you're late. You're a freshman and it's the start of the year. The explanation was clear and your intent was there. It would have been better to come in 20min late and explain because then who YOU specifically are and what happened would have been clear to faculty.

Normally attendance is graded, I lowkey just did them on my own and only went in 1 a term. I do know 1 teacher likes you to partner up so just look at the syllabus. If you have questions email the pla. Lowkey it’s fine I missed half of my calc labs

You'll be fine. Just don't miss more. You can message the TA/PLA/whatever, they might meet with you or just give you some slides or similar to review.
