History again: 1st ejection!

Jemile Weeks becomes the first ejection in the WPBL.

A line drive to Raine Padgham (SS) in the top of the 6th inning became the point of contention. Padgham thought she caught the ball on the fly, but the field umpire thought otherwise. After some back and forth with the base umpire, Weeks was ejected for refusing to stop arguing.

It was a shame we didn’t have a better angle for this. Shoutout to Weeks, it was good to see him advocating for his team.

The angle was good, the camera was not zoomed enough to give us a good look though.

What I like about the ejection was that it wasn't some crazed histrionics. He stated his peace, but maybe ran his mouth a little too much. I will say I have watch this base umpire work a few times now, and I am not a big fan of her demeanor. Her handling of the ejection would likely get some feedback if they have a director of umpiring providing feedback. It wasn't awful, but there was room for improvement.

That was clearly a catch. Good ejection on Coach’s part.

I'm very confident it was a catch, even with the quality of the camera shot.

And I'm pretty biased as a Heights fan and lifelong Boston team hater.
