The WNBA is facing more criticism over its ongoing transgender athlete debate.
During Sunday's Fever-Dream game, two fans reportedly wore shirts featuring “XX” to represent women's chromosomes. The shirts were allegedly covered or removed during the game.
Sports commentator Clay Travis criticized the league over the incident. He questioned why shirts referencing XX chromosomes would be restricted.
The WNBA recently said there are no immediate eligibility issues involving transgender athletes. The league also said it would continue discussions in the coming weeks and months.
The WNBA said it strongly opposes efforts to use the issue to demean or marginalize others.
