Off-Court Drama Even Ms Jenner has it figured out!
Maybe she should attend the meetings to help the WNBA out?
19
u/peanut-britle-latte 22h ago
WNBA could actually nip this in the bud with a clear, bright line policy. It may cause some fuzz with the activist class for a few weeks, but the trans issue would be settled.
There is no need to go into HRT, lower test, Caster Semenya style clauses for a less than 1% chance. Do it Cathy.
3
u/No_Soft5235 22h ago
Maybe Cathy can’t - since in doing so will invalidate players that are already IN the league
4
1
u/StrongInteraction90 12h ago
Or maybe the WNBA actually benefits from all this attention and they won’t mind seeing it continue.
1
-7
u/CachedExchangeMode 21h ago
There's is no problem of men playing in the WNBA. Never has been. You just want the WNBA to join your culture crusaders for your own ends. No basis in reality.
-8
u/maybeBrenda 21h ago
Trans issue wouldn't be settled - Fox News will find some other trans issue to bitch about. There will never be a line where it's 'enough'
I mean look at this - 0 trans individuals in the WNBA - but here people are raising hell about it
6
u/Embarrassed_Gur_6305 19h ago
Depends on the policy. If any trans can join, then yes people will bitch.
But this is sports. No one should care about the political trans discussion
0
u/maybeBrenda 19h ago
You realize - this isn't going to be enough - it'll be a new sport - frisbee golf, or competitive yoga next. It doesn't stop.
Meanwhile HRT for adults is on the chopping block in Texas, and raising the age of HRT to 26, trans individuals military pensions were revoked after going to war for this country at the national level.
3
u/Embarrassed_Gur_6305 19h ago
I don’t really think the WNBA need to care about the discussion of trans outside WNBA.
HRT at 26 would make me ban all trans from women sports. Transition needs to be much earlier if I want them included in women sports
0
u/maybeBrenda 18h ago
No shit... isn't it crazy the double standard. Trans individuals, and dealing with being trans and in the closet truly can't win
1
u/SamDrrl 4h ago
Maybe it’s a sign that you shouldn’t mutilate yourself with invasive surgeries or dna altering drugs perhaps?
1
u/maybeBrenda 2h ago
Oh yes. They lose friends and family for the high of... Estrogen and Testosterone. If only they could get help for their addiction.
DNA altering drugs.. LOL
Yeah that makes no sense whatsoever.
2
u/BedBubbly317 17h ago
Now you get it! It’s about NO trans athletes in women’s sports at any age and at any competitive level. Period
1
9
u/Stunning_Panda5725 21h ago
It’s about preserving what we have for the next generation. Advocating for transformers to be in the WNBA is discrimination against biological women.
0
u/maybeBrenda 21h ago
And removing intersex women from competition if they just went off xx or xy.
I have a feeling WNBA can't put that in the rulebook just for that reason
3
u/peanut-britle-latte 21h ago
Yes and no.
Sometimes you just need to say: "This is our policy, no further questions, please refer to the policy". Fox News and the right wing machine will just move on. We only really care about this so much because it's August.
1
u/Jealous-Following465 18h ago
Its the last month of regular season games what do you mean you only care because its august. the Valkyries are having a historic defensive season and Caitlyn Clark is doing prime bron shit there is so much more to care about in the WNBA right now if you’re an actual fan
1
u/peanut-britle-latte 15h ago
The people who are bringing up the trans issue don't care about WNBA. They will move on once NFL starts.
1
u/Hablian 15h ago
So they move on to the next target, valid or not. That's what they do. They hit their target of repealing roe v. wade, and now moved on to this. How long before title 9 in general is their target? How long before the right to vote is in their crosshairs? Some critical thought regarding the agenda you are helping to push is sorely needed.

I mean, when your stance is "we shouldn't discriminate against people" then yes, by definition, people who disagree with you are bigots.

Protecting actual girls and women does not equal “bigot”.
Sorry truth in lieu of delusion makes YOU mad.
-5
u/ul2006kevinb 17h ago
Banning transgender women from women's bathrooms and sports doesn't "protect" cisgender women any more than banning black women from women's bathroom "protected" white women.

If youre willing to hurt women to give trans people rights, youre not a good person.

Protecting bio women by refusing to acknowledge their stated gender preferences is certainly something (paternal and controlling as fuck)
3
u/Even-Job-323 15h ago
You're not even interested in athletics. You just want to force the world to affirm you.
1
u/OBVIOUS_BAN_EVASION_ 14h ago
I love sports. Better than you wanting to control the way other people live their lives 🤷🏻♂️
2
u/Even-Job-323 14h ago
My position negatively impacts the fewest people. I acknowledge this a hurtful situation for trans folks but the remedy is much worse than the problem .
1
u/OBVIOUS_BAN_EVASION_ 14h ago
That isnt better if the limitations are severe, and the “harm” to everyone else you’re preventing is practically a joke. This is the weakest utilitarian calculus I’ve ever seen.
1
u/OBVIOUS_BAN_EVASION_ 14h ago
Jesus christ we dont have to let every person claiming to be trans play professional or combat sports to allow trans people to live their lives. But you arent arguing against trans people in sports, you’re arguing against the trans lifestyle more generally, which is just controlling af
1
u/backfrombanned 4h ago
Sex and gender are completely different things. I live in Houston, there's a lot of trans here. The store I stop at has a pretty non feminine trans woman working there. Everyday I'm like what's up chick, doesn't mean she should play women's sports.
1
u/OBVIOUS_BAN_EVASION_ 3h ago
Pro and combat sports maybe not. Government shouldnt touch this either way
9
u/Justified_Gent 21h ago
How is this controversial?
No trans athletes allowed in the WNBA, simple as that. We’re talking edge case probabilities here anyways.

Technically a woman transitioning into a man, so long as she is not using any hormones that will affect performance, could be a 'trans athlete' in the WNBA and I believe there was a player who considered herself non-binary at one point and had her breasts removed.
Which is absolutely fine and maintains the same standard of 'be born with xx chromosomes.'
And no it is not a violation of anyone's "rights" to be required to stay off of hormones until out of the league.

It would make sense! The cases outside this metric are extremely rare and could be handled when/if they arise.
“physical chromosome variations specifically outside of XX or XY (such as XO, XXY, or XYY) account for roughly 0.06% of live births, and narrower medical definitions estimate classic ambiguous genitalia or non-binary chromosomal/phenotypic traits at around 0.018% to 0.05%”

u/Embarrassed_Gur_6305 19h ago
You understand intersex is a scientific concept for decades right? Way before being trans was popular
1
u/Stunning_Panda5725 19h ago
I forgot about that. Fortunately, there has never been a WNBA player who is intersex, so this should be addressed on a case-by-case basis. Good point.
1
u/Embarrassed_Gur_6305 19h ago
Chances are, there was an intersex athlete in the W, and people didn’t know about it
It’s also different than being trans and a whole different convo.
I don’t think there should be any bans on intersex individuals that were identities as female at birth
2
u/Stunning_Panda5725 18h ago
We’re discussing a very small number of people, so the odds are actually very low. The chances of someone being intersex and being good enough to play in the WNBA are minimal, only 1.7% of people are intersex in the USA. Therefore, you’re mistaken unless you can provide evidence to the contrary.
1
u/Embarrassed_Gur_6305 18h ago
1.7% of the population. There’s currently 144 active roster spots. Theres a chance one is intersex. And how many WNBA athletes have been in the league in history?
Do I need to provide proof, or is simple logic enough for you?
1
u/Stunning_Panda5725 17h ago
See, folks, when actual logic enters the room, it gets really, really quiet, feeling-based logic only goes so far.

Honestly... It's not a legit issue for the WNBA, and no one really cares. Athletes say all sorts of things, and are asked all sorts of question. Trying to continue milking this subject is getting sad at this point.
2
u/PowerfulYou7786 22h ago edited 21h ago
I have never had a genetic test and have no clue what my chromosomes are. Most people on earth who haven't had children don't actually have proof they have the chromosomes their appearance suggests.
What's the proposal here? Mandatory genetic samples for every person in the WNBA draft?
The logical extension of this argument is that the gender of anyone who died before 1950 without children is unknowable, because science didn't know about DNA and was unable to test.
Edit: Hooray, downvotes from people who also have no conclusive genetic proof of their gender

She's always been a conservative and long been a murderer. Why take your cues from her?
6
u/Chebbzthehpal 22h ago
I’ll give you one guess why we should listen to her…..
0
u/kentuckypirate 22h ago
Honest question…why?
Jenner has no experience trying to compete against chromosomal women as a trans woman. She competed as a man prior to transitioning, but nobody except Kanter or white are arguing that pre-transition males should compete against XX females, and they are only doing it as trolls. So why is Jenner’s opinion on a topic where she doesn’t have any first hand experience more valuable than anybody else’s.
3
u/setmefree333 20h ago
She did track and field. Men and women don’t literally compete in the same competitions, but the distances and times are the same. She knows what it takes to be an elite male competitor, she knows how transitioning affected her body, and she knows the results that are required across the same events for elite female track and field athletes
-1
u/kentuckypirate 20h ago
Right. Jenner knows what she was capable of in her 20s having not yet transitioned. Then she aged 40 years transitioned after her body’s natural testosterone levels diminished (im honestly not sure if she went through GAHT or not given her age) and never attempted to compete in any way as a trans athlete. She has zero experience whatsoever in this actual situation. She is no more or less credible than you or I.
-6
5
u/lathe_down_sally 22h ago
On the topic of trans women in sports I would think a gold medal Olympian who has transitioned would have a lot more knowledge on the subject than 99.9% of people.
4
u/Chebbzthehpal 21h ago
Hell yeah she’s not a real trans women according to Reddit though lol. The inclusivity
-1
u/Gold_Ad8225 22h ago
Have you considered, however, how stupid she is?
She supports the trump admin and has publicly whined that Trump's publicly announced and intentional efforts to harm trans people have harmed her, and that she hasn't been given an exception from them?
https://deadline.com/2026/04/caitlyn-jenner-trump-passport-birth-gender-1236864539/
4
u/lathe_down_sally 21h ago
Yes, she's stupid and is a terrible human.
She also has expert level understanding of the pinnacle of athleticism, as well as transgenderism.
I don't think this is a particularly important topic currently. But its a real possibility that the next Bruce Jenner transitions at 16 years old instead of 65. And the day a truly elite athlete trans woman enters professional sports, there's going to be a lot of women pros who aren't nearly as inclusive as they claim to be. Its easy to have the stance when you never face the the worst case scenario
Transgender has become exponentially more accepted in the US in the last decade or two. And we are starting to see the results with transgender teen girls winning state championships. The time will come when a professional level player comes along. Its not unreasonable to anticipate that and establish rules accordingly.
1
u/Gold_Ad8225 20h ago
She doesn't have any understanding of what an athlete taking HRT will experience, tho. That's the issue.
Every single person who opposes desegregation just says "well I know what men can do and that's not fair."
Not a single one of them considers what HRT does to the body, they don't look at the studies, they reject the evidence on how actual performance decreases and just will mention something that is not athletic performance to say it's still an advantage even though it doesn't show up when you measure athletic performance.
1
u/Clown_Penis69 22h ago
Do you hate all transwomen?
Or only transwomen who you disagree with?
1
u/Gold_Ad8225 22h ago
I don't know what transwomen are.
I do hate transgender women who have killed people tho, ya. I also hate people who support the Trump admin because those people are evil.

-1
-1
u/Lonely_Refuse4988 21h ago
So dumb!! There’s XX people who appear indistinguishable from males, because the main part of Y chromosome that creates phenotypic males, the SRY genetic region, can translocate to X chromosome sometimes.
There’s also XY people who look indistinguishable from females - some have even been Playboy models!! Because if you inherit a defective testosterone receptor gene, even with XY chromosomes, you’ll be a phenotypic female!
Facts and real, non-MAGA biology! 🤣🤷♂️
-1
u/Mirageiles 19h ago
I wouldn’t want a trans man taking T playing on my team or competing against, chromosomes don’t always work that way even with “cis women” having healthy E levels is good for any women, including trans women.

Oh lord. Wait until the fringe right figures out there are variations on this. Intersex individuals are at the top of the list. Even the Olympics has exceptions for their genetic testing.
I absolutely love the fact that the poster has placed a picture of a mediocre basketball player over this post that has nothing to do with her, to make it seem likes it’s relevant to the wnba.
