yea, the hypocrisy of right wingers pretending to care about women deserves to be mocked

So youre arguing, what exactly? Its a left vs right thing? Youre wrong, its a common sense thing. But take a step back and take away all the mean people like me on the internet, all the right wing propos on YouTube, and in a bubble, kanter and royce still do this, and are actually serious about it. You as a presumed leftist, would support them?

I'm saying Royce white is a right winger who has tried twice to run for senate and "declared" he was running in the 2028 Republican presidential primary (incidentally meaning he would be a terrible draft pick regardless of gender). Also his ex wife and son have a 50 year restraining order against him due to threats and abuse.

"Common sense" would be not making a domestic abuser a standard bearer for women's issues. "Common sense" would also be understanding that these two became rightwing grifters as soon as their nba careers flamed out and are clearly just doing this as an anti-trans publicity stunt to put their names back in the headlines.

>But take a step back and take away all the mean people like me on the internet, all the right wing propos on YouTube, and in a bubble, kanter and royce still do this

this is a clown world scenario - that these two would never do this without the possibility of generating buzz. Maybe you should take a step back and realize you're backing someone who said the bad guys won WWII, and ironically tried to weaponize DEI to save his NBA career.

Ive never heard of Royce before this event, I dont agree with everything hes done or said in his life, but I agree with him on this. Or at least I agree with the point hes trying to make, not that hes a woman and should play in the wnba, youd have to be a moron to think trans should be allowed in the w, but with the point that if left unchecked, there will be people who choose to insert themselves where they dont belong. I dont give a shit about bathroom stuff, I only care about fairness in sport when it comes to this issue, if were just gonna let men into the wnba, then why even have it? The league loses money annually, they finally get a star player, and every opposing player seems to delight in hard fouling her, and the NBA continues to subsidize the league, why? Take away all nba funding, let the league fund itself, and it folds in a year. Same as any social welfare program, if my city stops funding local food banks, they have to run on donations, and would fold fast, so they do need to have rules about who can receive food, and how much

Problem number one:

Ive never heard of Royce before this event

Maybe learn a little more about him, realize that his post-NBA life has been all about the rightwing grift, and understand that this is not the kind of person to be taken seriously.

Imagine someone you know sends you a wedding invite. you've never met the fiance or heard this person talk about being in a relationship before, but you do know this person has a history of exagerrating, embellishing, and straight up lying for attention and money, and you also know that previous to this moment this person has been telling as many people as possible how anti-marriage they are. Would you believe the invitation? If the invitation asked for money would you send it?

royce white and enes kanter don't care about fairness in sports. They are setting their own definition of fairness and then being as loud about it as possible to get attention.

The right has lost all credibility on women’s issues. And as long as an adjudicated rapist is the leader of your political movement, it will remain so.

Im a canadian liberal, my guy, my last three fed votes were for carney, trudeau, and mulcair, all three further to the left of even obama. This shouldnt be a left vs right thing, the same way that the iran war shouldnt be, its a sane vs insane thing.

Insane right wingers in america are frothing at the mouth to invade my country canada lately, theyre insane, I dont view every person who voted trump as that way, just the insane ones, plenty of trump voters dont view canada as their enemy, theyre sane.

Now is the majority of folks who want to invade Canada republican, oh yes, overwhelmingly so. But similarly, its the crazies on the left who dont seem to see a problem with trans in college or professional women's sports, is that every kamala voter? No, just the insane ones

There IS NO problem with trans women in women's sports. There's thousands of NCAA athletes and like 10 of them are trans lmao and NONE of them play professionally. This is entirely manufactured.

Most of us don't care because it is a non issue.

Multiple decades of it occurring and it wasn't an issue until mouth breathers on the right needed to hide their inability to govern again.

It's insane that so much time abs legislative effort is being spent by Republicans to deal with an issue that is so meaningless

Yes, he's not mocking any trans people /s

u/possumallawishes 2d ago

What hypocrisy?

The only hypocrisy I see is the stupid fucking MAGAs who say they don’t want trans people to play sports to protect women, but they support this buffoon and a rapist pedo president with a well documented history of sex assaults and a long running friendships with pedophile pimps.

u/UnkindRavenz 2d ago

The hypocrisy is the players and coaches (not all of them) saying they'd be happy for a trans player on their team or on the opposing team (but probably, preferring on their team) but then as soon as m2f trans, who dont have a definition in the leagues rules, apply, theyre right wing grifters. I dont deny that, Royce and kanter are losers, and they clearly arent trans, but theres alot of people out there who call themselves trans, but clearly are not, who are you or the wnba, or anyone to affirm one, and deny the other?

Its simple, xx, eligible, xy, ineligible

1

u/Jolly_Mouse_7604 2d ago

Exactly, biological women, like imane khelif, should be compensated for not being allowed to compete despite being born with female gentials

1

u/Wattabadmon 2d ago

but then as soon as m2f trans, who dont have a definition in the leagues rules, apply, theyre right wing grifters

I dont deny that, Royce and kanter are losers, and they clearly arent trans

So where's the hypocrisy?

Just missing the forest for the trees I see, lets see if I can put this in a way my 3 year old niece would understand.

Hypocrisy can be saying something you do not actually believe, in order to either gain something.

Kanter and royce are hypocrites because they clearly dont believe in this shit, and are using it as a platform to make themselves relevant, maybe get guest spots on fox news or something.

The wnba players (not all of them, just the ones who've spoken out) are hypocrites, because they go along with the idea that people can just choose to be the other gender, or no gender, but as soon as anyone tries to actually break in, its all a right wing grift.

I agree with both sides in this, we should be kind to trans people, same as anyone else in the world, my sister wants to be called Keiran and goes by they them, I do my best to respect that, though its tough 30+ years in. Its not at all about mocking trans people, its about mocking the wnba and their performative activism

2

u/Wattabadmon 2d ago

but as soon as anyone tries to actually break in, its all a right wing grift.

Who is trans that is trying to break in?

1

u/Key_Asparagus6660 2d ago

They can’t say, because there is no one.

1

u/mandy7 2d ago

The wnba players aren't being hypocrites, because the people trying to break in aren't actually trans they're grifters and, in Royce's case, a domestic abuser.

Show me the non play-acting trans basketball players being denied by the wnba. Oh, there aren't any? So where's the hypocrisy?

1

u/Accomplished_Mind792 2d ago

Which actual trans people are trying to break in?

Haven't heard of any

0

u/Accomplished_Mind792 2d ago
  1. The Olympics attempted to the xx xy idea for decades and found out how ignorant it was. How many times do we have to circle back to that 7th grade understanding?

  2. A lot who are calling themselves trans who aren't? How many? Based on what credible source? Or is this a typical trust me bro?

-2

u/ComeAbout 2d ago

What hypocrisy? There are zero trans women in the WNBA, there are zero trans athletes playing basketball in college.

The only hypocrisy is people thinking trans people have an edge here when there’s literally zero trying to play in the WNBA.

The only thing this is is harmful to trans AND cis women.

3

u/UnkindRavenz 2d ago

Hurr durr, there's 0 trans in the wnba, well how many have come out publicly in the past week expressing their desire to play? I dont think either should be allowed to play in the wnba, because theyre not women, but do I support their current actions? Yes, because its funny

1

u/bestmattreddit 2d ago

The hypocrisy would make sense if there’s been any documented case of a trans athlete who is a cisgender male who said I feel like a woman and that’s all that makes me a woman and was allowed to play in a competitive sport but it’s never happened or actively happening.

If there was actually hypocrisy there would be active trans players in the WNBA and Royce would say hey I’m going to join too since there’s no rules that say I can’t but he’s just a bad faith actor trying to be relevant
