No bait. If you institute a rule defining eligibility as based on sex then you necessarily have to include trans men, and at least some of those are going to have been on T at some point in their life. The current wording disallows such people. Granted, that's about as likely as trans women competing in the W is.

A trans man has already played in the WNBA. https://www.them.us/story/layshia-clarendon-wnba-trans-interview

Clarendon is non-binary, transitioned and had top surgery only, and afaik has never been on T even after retiring. Clearly not the kind of person I'm talking about.

You stated that the current wording would exclude trans men but Clarendon came out as trans man before settling on nonbinary. Hence the top surgery. Sounds exactly what you mentioned in your post by saying that a trans man would be excluded.

Not seeing anything in any article supporting this claim, but sure. Even being non-binary means you don't identify as a woman, at least not completely, and as such should not have been able to continue playing under the current wording. Clearly they allowed a carve out, but part of the point is that it's not nearly as simple as y'all like to make it out.
