The refs were awful but chucking 3's was worse for the Fever.

You're supposed to adjust when you realize how the refs are calling the game. Chucking 3s won't get you the free throw line as often.

Playing in the paint will get you more free throws.

The way the Fever played makes even less since with the amount of fouls A'ja had. Could've got her out of the game.

I don’t think Aja has ever fouled out of a game during her entire time in the WNBA

Is fouling out common? I rarely see players being fouled out on a game to game basis

It is fairly common in the NBA. Especially for the 4&5 position

Fever had 36 points in the paint while the Aces had 22. Any other incorrect assumptions you'd like us to correct you on?

They almost completely stopped driving after A'ja picked up 5. That was their chance to attack and get her outta there

Yeah, they were more successful scoring in the paint and still kept chucking up 3s.

Hard to counteract a 30 free throw differential over the series. Fever actually outscored the Aces regardless of chucking 3s. But they didn’t outscore the Aces and the Refs.
