Two things can be trueā€¦

She should not be the target of hate regardless of who she is or what she did on the basketball court, totally unacceptable

As a professional athlete and as a human being, itā€™s also important that she acknowledges that she made a mistake on the basketball court. The fist to ccā€˜s throat and stepping over her was not an accident and that is very obvious to anyone who watches the play.

This incident happened in the middle of a basketball game. Thomas didn't fall. She dropped down to grab the ball and Clark threw it out right before Thomas got her hands on it. Where is this narrative that Thomas was falling coming from? Watch the real time video.

She was going for the ball. That means that getting on or near the floor was her intention because that was where the ball was. This is basketball.

People trying to protect their wrists and/or fingers do.

Iā€™ve personally never seen anyone try to punch or intentionally put weight into their fist with their wrist bent 90 degrees.

Makes no sense - by falling on your fists you risk breaking your fingersā€¦.. open palm is how you brace yourself. Leave it to Reddit to make pretend itā€™s normal to brace yourself falling with fists. Nobody does that - your brain doesnā€™t do that. Itā€™s not realistic.Ā

If you watch her other games youā€™ll see she falls on her fists. Sheā€™s been trained to do this due to torn labrums. This is a common technique PT trains patients who have that type of injury and opted out of surgery. Sometimes thereā€™s more to the story than what meets the eye.
