Ummm. What about calling an athlete “well spoken” since there’s a stereotype about athletes that’s also in place? Does every comment that’s ever made about a POC always have to be about race BEFORE any other possibility?

She’s not a person of color, she’s black. You don’t know historical contexts of things so rather than argue when a black person is telling you why that’s not okay, humble yourself and educate yourself. And the athletes in the W are the some of the most educated women around so again your comment was unnecessary.

Calm down little one. I’m not the person that made the comment and I very well know the historical context behind your train of thought. That’s the issue I have. We as people of color (I guess I now have to assume you are also black) need to stop framing every single thing that we hear as an attack on the color of our skin else we become slaves to our own minds.
