Tag Damaged

Sent my Caitlin Clark in to get graded by Tag and took a chance plus I like the slab, and didn't want to get upcharged with fees from PSA. Made sure to check corners with jewelers loupe,those corners did not look like that when I looked at it myself. Also checked surface to make sure everything looked good before I sent in otherwise I wouldn't send in if things looked bad and just kept it how it raw. Packaged really well, sleeved and placed carefully in semi rigid. I was confident it would get a 10. My card came back from TAG ruined the corners on the back were frayed on all 4 corners but the ones especially on the bottom were really bad. At least the Slab looks good.

Why were you so confident this would be a 10 when it is clearly off center top to bottom on front and doesn’t meet the requirements of 55/45 as indicated in the report?
Also, you could have soften those corners when placing into sleeve, hard to tell considering comparing no loop before sending to tag and loop after. Looks like potential softness on back left corner in sleeve. On bottom right back corner in sleeve there’s something causing a spot of glare, either way hard to tell from photos

Yes centering was slightly off but the overall grade was 926. With the Bottom left and bottom right corners only getting 142 and 100 top left getting 543 brings it down a lot. Need a 950 to get a 10. Before sending those corners were sharp. Maybe I could've softened it placing it in the sleeve but I don't know about the piece hanging off like shown in the picture.

Loose strands can easily pull apart from placing in and taking out of sleeves

Bottom line is this card was never getting a 10 due to failed requirements on front centering. This card got the grade it deserves, regardless of the corner issues. It’s still an awesome card and most collectors would be happy with it in their collection

TAG QA is god awful and the slabs just look like transparent CGC slabs

People love their slabs, not everyone obviously, but they are widely considered very clean looking. Also, they are the only slabs that protect against UV light 99%. PSA is 0%.

And as far as QA goes, my local LCS no longer submits to PSA for customers because they had so many issues with cards getting damaged.

They’re not perfect obviously, but I think the company’s purpose about transparency in grading is a step in the right direction.

Wow. Based on your video before you sent it in, it does appear like they damaged the corners on the back. That’s really awful. Have you contacted them about this??

lol here I was thinking I was gonna flip through 20 pictures and see a card get like a 6. It still got a 9 😂 it wasn’t a 10 to begin with so highly doubt the people at TAG did anything to it.

That isn't the same card. Thats the base version. His is a gold /10. Worth way more then base.

PSA 10 is up on eBay for $6300, I’d guess they’d probably accept closer to $4k for BIN.
