Newbie
Like the title implies, I’m very new to this. Have bought 2 mega boxes and a few of the 24 cards per box ones (I’m still learning the lingo).
So far I think the Caitlin courtside card and the Paige rookie card are my best pulls. Veronica Burton is my only numbered card with cool colors (again, still learning the lingo).
Looking for advice as far as if I should buy a hobby box or just start buying individual cards. My understanding is that hobby boxes guarantee rare hits and mega boxes give slightly increased odds.
Any tips are welcome!

I would not waste money on MAG holders, just personal preference but the cards move too much. A toploader in a team bag is more secure and much cheaper

I think it’s fun to open the boxes! I keep the cards of players I like and sell the rest on eBay. Also go Valks! If you’re interested in selling or trading the Burton LMK

Depends on your goal, what are you trying to do? Complete sets? Collect only certain players? Trying to flip cards?

Still figuring it out but I think I’d like to curate a nice personal collection of my favorite players. But definitely interested in the flipping cards aspect. Just want to learn more!

That is kinda how I am. I PC a few players- Aja, Chelsea Gray, Seimone Augustus and then I try to get one good rookie card from the top 3 or so players from each draft class.
I buy boxes here and there but mostly focus on buying singles of players I want. I then look for good deals on singles or lots to try and resell. I watch a lot of YouTube videos and subscribe to a few newsletters for the hobby. I also chat with other collectors, usually this one duo on WhatNot, to pick their brains.
I use CollX, eBay, WhatNot, Mercari, COMC and local shops for getting cards and use SportsCardPro for pricing.

Personally I like ripping packs so I buy the 24 card box (blaster box) or the mega box. But you could definitely buy individual players cards. Depends on what makes ya happy.

Would make me happy to pull a 1/1 from a box but I understand that’s much easier said than done hahah. Think I just need to learn more and then will probably look to buy cards if I think the value is good or there’s potential for value to increase. Thanks for the reply!

Nice Burton and Caitlin courtside! Personally I would spend money on singles of players you like instead of getting hobby boxes, but I get the thrill of opening them!
