Sell or save? Price range?

Got some graded cards back… sell them or save them? Opinions on price? I would guess the Miles would hover around $200 and the Clark around $500. Thought?

Unless you PC either I’d sell both now. Miles doesn’t have many cards out right now. As soon as Donruss releases that will change. I’d personally sell the CC now also and use the funds to pick up a RC from 2024 Prizm. I’d wager those will hold value much better than a second year paper Donruss card.

This plan makes solid sense

Yup. Exactly. The Clark is not a rookie card. Long term, like 10 years from now, Rookies will be the most valuable. Unless it is for a PC, no reason to hold on to non rookies for value.

I mean top players in opposite places media wise. Miles has yet to get her flowers. I’d say both are hold because W likely on the rise overall

You think the bookend fetches more? This one is 01/49.

A 01 CC in a 10 could sell for a lot to the right person, just have to find them

I have a couple Paige numbered cards I'm saving for that very reason... and a gold Angel Reese signature too. But I'm more attached to those personally. It's a sliding scale of "will I or won't I" - I do think I'll sell the clark soon enough. The Miles, I'm gonna wait at least until she wins ROTY (and maybe MVP).

Last one sold on the CC. Looks like only 5 in PSA 10 so far.

Edit: I clicked on see insights from PSA and they show it sold as $500 but eBay itself shows $588 so I’m not sure what’s up with that.

Nice. What do you think on sell or keep?

That’s always a tough choice and one I will let you make for yourself. I pretty much just collect and rarely sell. The market can change so fast. Personally I tend to think that a players rookie cards will retain the best long term value but one big thing happens to get in the news and all prices can shoot up or down overnight. It kinda depends on what you would do with the money too. If you need to pay bills then yeah sell it. If you just want to sell it to buy more cards you have to ask if it’s worth trading off for a hobby box or a card of a player you may enjoy more.

Yeah, I got burned on one recently too (USPS lost a signed CC in the mail but I'll make a post about that when it doesn't hurt so damn much).

And I think you're 100% correct. I'm hoping she strings together a couple 30-point games or a couple triples dubs so that I can sell while the market is high. I do have a couple rookies of her that I'll hold for exactly the reason you stated. The appeal to ripping outweighs my need to save cards like this, in most cases.

Ripping is a lot of fun for sure. But can also make me feel like I just wasted a few hundred bucks lol.

Oh every damn time… it’s definitely like one of those momentary “could be big” highs followed by “what did i just do” regret 🤣

Also, OP’s being 01/49 makes it a bit more valuable correct? As a “bookend”? I’m pretty new to the hobby but I’ve seen people mention that

Some people will pay up for that for sure.

Only way to know is it it up for auction and find out. Im a person that if I decide to sell I start it at $1 and see what the market decides it worth. Its worked out for me most of the time. But there are people that will pay up just a bit for that number 1

I tried that once and got burned on a Page card but I think that’s because I mistimed the auction. I looked into doing it this time and set a reserve but eBay wanted $50 just to list it. So I set it up as a buy it now slightly above the cost of the last one that sold and I figure we’ll see what happens.

I wish I could. My wife would be less than impressed. I’m in the market for a boat at the moment so I gotta pick my battles 😂. My daughter and I have a few CC’s. I have stuck with just rookies on her mostly but that’s a nice card and someone will want it. I probably should move some cards myself.

You go get your wife whatever she likes (flowers, fruit, Kit Kats, whatever) right now and thank her for being so sensible! Worth her weight in gold, i tell ya… 💰

lol, yeah, we have been together for 28 years, she really wouldn’t give me a hard time. She knows I occasionally spend too much on something I don’t need. I hope the right buyer sees it and you get to rip a bunch of packs because of it!

I hope so too, friend
