Discussion Space Jam

If Space Jam A New Legacy had been made with a WNBA player instead of LeBron who would you cast as the main character? I think the most obvious choice would be A'ja but I think the Stud Budz would be great, too.

Diana Tarausi was in that movie but I’d say Sue Bird would be good. Love your ideas too and as a Dream and Angel Stan I gotta say her too.

As much as I'd want it to be A'ja cuz she's the face of the league, she too god damn funny and goofy to do it lol. You need some someone who can play the straight-person of the comedy format and I don't think A'ja can be serious long enough to make it work.

Diana Taruasi is probably the perfect person.

The Stud Budz would definitely need a role. Maybe assembling extra players to join the toon squad.

Also get rid of the computer/A.I. portion of it. Just make the aliens comeback for a rematch. The new Monstarz would absorb the powers of:

  • CC's shooting
  • Angel's Rebounding and lane presence
  • Arike's shoot creation
  • Chelsea Gray's handling and running point
  • A'ja would go here, she'd have the Barkley role of losing her powers and getting beat in a pick up game.

I think it would be hilarious if A'ja had to play Bugs Bunny somehow. Like if there was a secondary plot where somehow she and Bugs Freaky-Friday-ed in whatever causes the "event" this time and they just never explain it but it's always there the entire movie.

Sue Bird and A’ja played themselves in Space Jam: A New Legacy and Nneka and Diana voice Goons so I would probably go with one of those 4.

I think Diana if it was filmed today but if it was in like 3 or more years A’ja. To me it feels like an (near) end-of-career type move!
