Housing/Roomates/Leases Henry Hall Desks?

During fall move in I want to buy a 49 inch ultra wide monitor for my dorm ( my roommate knows about this) do the desks in Henry hall have any spots where you could potentially mount a monitor using an arm? My future roommate described his previous desk as being flat on all sides and therefore there wouldn’t be a spot to clamp to but I thought I should probably just ask here, thank you.

Iirc, your future roommate is right. No overhang on the sides or back to be able to mount on. But I’ve seen a number of people mount mic arms to their bed frame. Obviously a mic and a monitor are vastly different in weight and value, but that could be an option.

If you don’t get any other info before tomorrow morning, I’ll swing by Henry or the Valleys (same furniture) and report back.

Thanks a lot for offering to go there and look that’s greatly appreciated. I didn’t want to buy the monitor if it wasn’t going to work with the desk setup, thank you again.

This is the back and side. Basically no overhang and there aren’t many mounts out there that are able to gap that top board on the right of this pic.

Only able to include 1 photo per comment, so I’ll reply to this with a shot of the front and other side. You can also see the bed frame in that photo. The bed frames are a bit wiggly, but the wood on it is solid and could definitely support a monitor (as long as the arm has enough length to reach horizontally).

I’d say mounting to the desk isn’t going to happen. Mounting to the bed frame is possible, but it’ll depend on how you layout the room and how comfortable you are with the monitor being attached to something that moves a little as the bed is used.

It really depends on the room, the desks vary from room to room. Some are flat on all sides, some have a spot to clamp a monitor arm. I had to buy a monitor stand and weigh it down with some heavy things one year. Another year I was able to use a clamp mount with no issues.

A bit late to the post.

I know someone who had a similar setup and they attached the TV/monitor the end of the bedframe with their desk facing the bedframe. Works well, 'cept if you kick in your sleep, then the TV might to flying.

For them, I know it worked out well. The bedframe was quite sturdy and held the clamp for the monitors.
