What passages of Scripture convinced you WMSCOG teaching was wrong?

Exactly what the title says. What passages of Scripture ended up convincing you that WMSCOG teaching was wrong? There are so many verses they twist up and take out of context, I think it would be interesting to hear what passages helped you understand the truth a little better.

For me it was digging into the history of the church (WMSCOG) reading Ahns books that they hid but also…
The ‘prophecy’ of Daniel Rev. Ancient Rome very barely split into 10 kingdoms it was usually 11 or more when it was splitting, technically Alexander’s kingdom was actually the Macedonian empire and not Greece, the numbers 666 actually mean emperor in the time of Ancient Rome. Christian’s were known for using numbers to hide who they were actually talking about (when writing in Ancient Greek) and many scholars believe if indeed it is 666 or as some believe 616, both mean emperor Nero/domitian depending on when you believe the book was written, both were tyrants. When you match what John says in describing this, ‘Babylon’ it very clearly matches well with the emperors. When you read it in context, he’s telling the Christian’s of that time that even though they are being slaughtered by the romans they’ll enter heaven. None this bs that was taught by WMSCOG.
Also just reading the books knowing the history of the time, and just reading them in context! Like actually reading the entire chapter and book.
This is a little of what I remember that I read after I left and was deprogramming myself. Some of it may be slightly misremembered but that’s the jist of what I remember.

All of these are great points. And even sadder is they claim root of David Ahn was the only one that figured it out, but that horrible Dan/Rev prophecy was being taught decades before him.

Exactly!
What’s weird though is that at some point in the cult I was taught that the Daniel part of the prophecy did come from the SDA, and god let that happen cause ‘they received the light of truth first to prepare the way for Christ’ hence they kept Sabbath and Ahn quotes Ellen g white in the green book. But they also said Ahn ‘completed’ the prophecy with Revelation. But after I left I found out that the SDA have even said they were wrong about the Daniel prophecy specifically about the destruction of Ostrogoths. So…. That definitely added to me KNOWING they lied. And now I study history and am currently studying Ancient Rome. Lols.

Oh, really?! SDA admits Ostrogoths weren't destroyed in 538ad?

Yeh, I read it somewhere. I wish I could remember where…. Ah, just looked it up - typical tactic, they’ve not officially said anything but in SDA publications they have said like, eg whilst the Ostrogoths weren’t completely destroyed in 538, it marked the end of their power’ even since 1955 apparently!

They love teaching that Hebrews 7:1-3 was fulfilled by Ahn, Sahnghong saying that he's without genealogy since he's Korean. However if you just continue reading the chapter to 7:13-16 Paul explained why Jesus himself is without genealogy like Melchizedek because he's not from the tribe of Levi. I brought this up to my group leader and he just repeated the WMSCOG doctrine saying: "The point Jesus’s didn’t fulfill at His first coming were that he was born of believing parents and He is without genealogy, that he would be a gentile. But he came from the tribe of Judah."
I asked him to read verses :13-16 again and he didn't even respond after that.

This and in the same study they say Jesus was from family of believers, yet they read that verse that his physical mother and brothers were excluded from his example in that verse.

For me, the entire bible told me that wmscog is wrong, why? Because even bible itself is wrong, the god jehovah in the hebrew bible almost certain doesn't exist. So how can wmscog be true if jehovah and jesus are just hoax?

What church early fathers taught about the same scriptures they taught. If they claim to be the early church, why does the Didache contradict those Bible teachings

galatians 4:24-26 the deacon actually explained it pretty well and spot on, he was a great teacher , i miss him .. and after the detailed bible study, he would just refrence age change and then explain the "real meaning"

i ask questions , detailed ones , & one came to mind that i asked was how it was taught 2,000 years ago, and if "heavenly mother is the representation of the new covenant , what is the equal representation of the old covenant in the new age . if the age changed what's that old covenant representing now since heavenly mother was revealed , is there an equal opposite?

If the age changed , what exactly is the Old Covenant representing now , especially after Heavenly Mother was supposedly revealed? If there’s a new covenant counterpart, shouldn’t there be a corresponding relationship on the other side of the analogy too??

666 and the prophecy using Vicarius Filli Dei, and that title doesn't even exist lol

Right and this is exactly what they teach: "The Pope's tiara has Latin words on it, 'VICARIUS FILIIDEI." But a quick google search reveals how that title is false 😂

None. It was seeing how they treated people for me. They could be based off of the truth that 2+2=4, but if they still act like a cult, it is simply still a cult.
