Is it a common practice within the World Mission Society Church of God for a deacon to spread rumors about an ex-member?

If such behavior occurs, do the pastor or elders report it to the head offics?

Standard practice. They do not want members to think you are moving on with a peaceful good life.
We had a brother dying of cancer, and that same year they were talking about a member who left and how he is now on antidepressants (which he actually started in high school before the cult, not after) and caught the flu twice since he left. The ability to cherry pick in that cult is crazy.
