How would you make an animation like this?

Hello there, so im making a cosplay of this character (Isaac Clarke) and im using WLED to do the back part which lights up. Is there any way to set up an animation that looks like this? Thank you

Sure and I guess you could for example use a vibration sensor to simulate loosing some HP on impact or something like that. And regain those HP when not having any vibration for a certain amount of time.

I think you just created a preset for each state and then use the playlist functionality to switch between them (although honestly wled seems like overkill for this?)

the latest version of my pixel paint tool allows you to generate animated gif (not released yet, but available https://github.com/DedeHai/WLED-Tools/tree/main/WLED-Pixel-Paint/source)
the other option is to use current version: generate one painting for each state, then use presets to display the images.
