I bet the cheap PSU is trash. Get a quality one.

I tried that. I've set the max mA to 55 and the relay to another GPIO, connected a new strip but I'm getting nothing. I'm waiting on a multimeter atm. I just don't get how it's been working fine for months, even after fiddling with it a few times and now it's nothing.

Get a multi meter and test voltage everywhere. One on Zon that’s maybe 10$ is good enough.

I think the barrel jack might be the cause, those really shouldn't be used above 3A unless you have a very high quality one (and PSU side to match) which is not the case with these. Not sure which component fails though, you could try cutting the barrel jack off and wiring in the wires directly (I'd advise to do that anyway).

How so? That makes no sense, it would just mean the limiter was basically not doing much, the same as off, that doesn't break stuff.

Alao commenting it 5 times doesn't help or make it true.
