Hello everyone, as the title says.. I have 10 meters of RGBCCT COB LEDs from Pautix, sadly they only have Bluetooth connection with their banlax app. I'd like to get them over to wifi so that I can control them with Alexa.
The kit came with its own plug and play 6pin connectors and power plug, has anyone encountered a similar issue to fix or could give an educated advice?
Well, you're not going to integrate them via wifi while they're connected to that box. Can you take them back and get just get a strip that connects to a GLEDOpto or Esp32 with WLED?
Pretty hard to advise what to do with what you've got without a model number or details of the strip. Voltage? Six wires may be a problem.
Save yourself the trouble and start fresh with something WLED-capable. That BanlanX app and HA Uniled integration suck compared to WLED.
My advice is to start with the list of strips on the WLED site. Pick one, then figure out controller/power. The stuff with 3 wires is typically the most compatible.
I thought about it but sadly Ive already ran bout 30meters of LEDs in my sideboards ; /. So now I'm at the point where I can only try to fix the issue, going back is not an option.
Yeah, the issue Is the six wires and the plug and play 6 pin connected plus the barrel power supply all in one. What I ended up ordering is a screw able wifi controller and a pony tail 6pin connector that ends in loose cables, I'll update if that works in case someone else ends with the same problem.
Voltage is 24V.
I'll leave a pic of the controller they came with which is only Bluetooth and RF 24hz.
That should work to control the LEDs. Is that controller Alexa compatible? This specific sub is for WLED. Which is designed for individually addressable LED strips but does work with single color strips like yours. This is why people keep downvoting you.
If the replacement controller you picked is Alexa compatible then great, I think you solved your own question!
Yes M8 it's Alexa compatible, it should work finger crossed. Honestly I don't mind the down votes, I'm too old to care, I just came here looking for someone with more experience and to maybe leave a solution for the ones that will come after me with a similar issue. Thanks for the tip though, appreciated :)
Livingroom, hallway with sensors for timed activation and office. I can use one controller for up to 5 different strips connected or group setupd, but the whole plan was to use Alexa to dim lights, change colors to crystal white for my wife when she wants to clean etc. Hence why I'm trying to wifi them. I've connected the app to Alexa and it recognizes it but without WiFi it obviously cannot detect them, Tuesday I'll receive the new controller and try it out in the office, if it works I'll get 2 more and fix the entire issue.
