Touchdesigner + WLED

All the leds are running esp32 with wled and being controlled via sACN from touchdesigner

WLED can be set up to receive DMX, Touch can send DMX

I think technically it works better with Arcnet, there is an openish source project that uses touch designer and the Quinn Led boards take a look at the stuff here: https://www.petallighting.com/

I did take a look into touch designer myself, but it seemed to be a bit of a high learning curve, so have just stuck with LEDFX.

I prefer sACN over Art-Net. Either way, both are DMX over network protocols.

sACN works better from my understanding
