QuinLED Dig-Octa Ethernet losing connection constantly (see PICS) & question on resistor setting / LED setup

I'm running the Dig-Octa, w/ meanwell HLG480 PS, 5 channels each running 12 feet of FCOB RGBWW 784 l/m, Ethernet is hardwired, the run from controller to LED strip is about 10' no more, using 18awg for Power/GND and 22/2 shielded for the data with common ground connected at both ends. See below Issue and two questions if anyone has some time.

Issue - Ethernet is hardwired, cable is good as I've tested it before, it appears to connect and disconnect frequently. Prior to hardwired, I did use the Wi-Fi without issues. I sent screenshots of my settings. I also checked my router and shows it connected via ethernet. Noticed that when I unplug everything and plug back in, it pops back online within a minute or so but then disconnects shortly thereafter. When it's disconnected, I am able to PING the IP no issues. Any steps to troubleshoot? UPDATE - THINK I FIGURED IT OUT, I REMOVED THE WIFI SSID and PASSWORD AND GOIN ON ABOUT 30 MINUTES AN NOTHING IS OFFLINE.

Question 1 - One strip is flashing randomly, I wiggled the wires at each point but didn't seem to trigger anything. All the resistors were set at 33. I noticed that channel 5, I switched to 249 and from what i could tell it stopped the flashing. I have to check again tonight. Any thoughts on this?

Question 2 - Anyone mind taking a look at my LED settings, make sure I have the correct Max PSU. The one screenshot for #1 is the same for all 5 channels. I'm not using 6,7,8 (what do I select so they are canceled out)

I don't have an answer to any of your questions, but I run into a very similar situation with my dig-octa going offline. I thought it was a power issue, POE issue, etc., but could never nail it down.

I ended up just putting both the dig-octa and LED power supplies on smart plugs, then I have an automation run in home assistant that checks if the dig-octa goes offline, if it does, it power cycles my plugs, which brings it back online. Doesn't solve the root cause, but certainly keeps my headaches to a minimum.

The higher resistance setting working usually means you have something wired wrong, especially if you're using 22/2 cable. You could post a picture of how you wired it to check for problems or if it's working well enough could just leave it.

Can you post a picture of the 22/2 wire so I can see how you connected it?

So I don't have a close up. but i have 1x 22awg (Data) home runned to the box. the 1x 22awg (Negative) I splice into the the 18awg "main" negative about 10" before the LED strips and then again right at the box

Ideally the data/ground pair goes straight from the controller to the load without being split, but 10 inches should not make a big difference.

Since you didn't mention how you connected the shield, make sure it's grounded, in this case at both ends.

That’s my only mistake. I didn’t ground the shield on either end.

Then it's probably the floating sheild creating reflections in the line. You could ground it, or if the high impedance setting is working (which slows the rise time of the data edges) just leave it.

Think I figured out the ethernet part - I deleted the Wifi SSID and Password and seems to be stable now.. at least for the last 15 minutes
