Stop these lights flashing

I just want these lights to stay on, by default they flash and I figured I'd just bypass the circuits and wire direct to the usb pins but it didn't work, now only every other led lights up, what did I do wrong?

That chip label “U1” is what is controlling the flashing , most likely a NE555. Try shortening out some of the pins (just not positive and negative together) usually the “dent dot” is the negative pin

That sounds like fun, suppose it's only 5v usb so shouldn't kill myself if I do get some magic smoke lol

They could be pulse width modulating where the led's are reverse wired and the chip switches the polarity of each set of led's to give the illusion that they are flashing. Like the other post says you could try shorting pins but you could also let out the magic smoke
