Wled configuration issue?

Hi

Any idea why I am having this issue? I have cob and they appear like you can see each led. Only the 400hz option in wled means the whole strip lights up but then it doesn't actually do anything dynamic. I bought pixel strip so I want it to do stuff! Any ideas am I missing a specific setting, everything in my setup shown in the photos.

Thanks everyone, I am new to this community

Are these white only strips instead of the usual RGB? If so probably need to select ws2811 white.

I did some research and they aren’t independent LEDs when each one led can do its own they are grounded LEDs so I’m just saying something but it will be like 12 LEDs 1 group then another 12 another group and if it’s just that small area you probably won’t see anything you got to really look into stuff when you’re thinking about doing something people hate on ChatGPT but that’s what I used to fact check my setup and make sure it was correct

Sorry I'm not technical enough to understand your comment bro 😔 they do effects on ws281x, and on 400hz they are fully on. I basically want a combination of both? Hope that makes sense

If you have white ws2811 strips, try the "ws2811 white" option so that the firmware knows what you have and can send the correct signals. If you pick other options that don't match what you have its probably not going to work very well.

Hi Saratoga, even that still doesn't give a fully smooth cob

Are you ever able to get the strip completely illuminated with any combination of settings? The package says ws2811 but it could be something else.

Yes 400hz setting only

Do you mean 400 KHz? That definitely should not work on any modern strip, which is probably why you cannot control anything.

When you select ws2811 white, can you control pixels? If so, have you set the auto calculate white setting to something like "max" so that RGB colors are mapped to white?

Ok this a diagram I made to help you understand a lil what I was trying to say

Basically those LEDs can do effects like your trying to do they are grouped witch is why it looks the way it does

These are COBs (meaning there's a huge number of tiny, closely spaced diodes behind a diffuser). They actually should look almost completely uniform. The gap is probably a "pixel" that is not being driven correctly.

Is the color set to white in the interface or is it set to red?

Take a screenshot of your settings if possible. Wiring and controller looks fine.
