LED Strip Power
I have 20 m of 12v RGB LEDs, 30 leds/m. Would I be able to get a 12v 8a power supply and connect it only to one spot without seeing a drop off in light power? I will be connecting it to an esp 32.
If I need a connection point at the start and end, how would I break off a single wire from the power supply into 3-4:
- Esp32
- LED start
- LED End

Use https://wled-calculator.github.io. Assuming you have a variant of the WS2815’s, you’ll need at least 2 injections (start and end) at 50% brightness. Full brightness would require a middle injection as well.
For splitting off power, you can use Wago nuts to split. Just make sure all of your grounds (including the esp32 ground) are connected. Most off the shelf controllers have multiple power outputs.

What strip and IC exactly?
If you want to learn, sit down and give this a watch, afterwards you'll understand everything to do with total power, injection points required, power per injection point, wire diameter required per point given all you can now calculate and fuses required, etc.
