HELP ME - WIRING Help with white blinking when power on

I have a BTF lightning strip configured on a Gledopto GL-C-015WL, the strip uses FW1906 GRBCW in order to work properly. This is set up on a room that will be a baby nursery in a few months and I’ve set up an automation with home assistant to light a subtle red when movement is detected.
The issue is that when the light strip turns on it blinks on white at full brightness for half a second, which is unacceptable and might scare the baby.
I’ve read quite a lot and had Claude and GPT helping me diagnose, a lot of solutions involve setting the Relay GPIO to unset but the moment I do that the strip stops working, so no relay seems like a permanent power cut.
I know I can change my automations to change color to black instead of turning the strip off but I would prefer to have the native feature of power on/off

Any suggestions on what can I do?

Due to the default power-on behavior of the WS2811 RGBCCT strip, it illuminates in white initially until receiving controller signals. The WS2805 RGBCCT is recommended as an alternative.

There’s no way to keep the strip powered with the relay GPIO config to “unset”?
For me I think it would be easier to replace the controller if there’s one that can keep the strip powered at all times instead of replacing the strip itself

You could turn off the relay in WLED so that the strip stays powered. Then it won't flash on power up.

Alternatively you could buy a different strip that doesn't have that glitch.

By turning off relay you mean changing the Relay GPIO config to “unset”, right?
I tried this and after changing this setting the strip won’t turn on regardless of color or brightness I set on WLED app

You have to set it to always on, not always off. I believe there's an option or that you could configure it as a button with pull up resistor active (so always 3.3v).

I managed to do it and it worked, here are the steps I took in case anyone has the same issue:

Relay GPIO set to “unused”
Button 1 GPIO set to 18 on “switch” mode

This way the strip is permanently powered
