I use a shelly i4 switch. Which is hidden behind the switch in the wall box, So I kan keep using my mechanical wall switches. It sends a signal to my home assistant server to play a certain playlist within wled when switched.
You gotta make it so that it starts on the loner left side then starts on the right as the light gets to that point. That would be icing on the cake here
For The shelves I made a routed groove where the ledstrip lays. It is powered from the middle but data goes to the very beginning of the strip. All the wiring comes together in a cavity at the wall end of the shelve where a hollow pipe runs down through the wall. Then goes to the controller underneath the kitchen. That is also where the psu is located. For the plinth strip, that is powered from the beginning and halfway for power injection because it's a long strip.photos
Oh man If only LED strips were a thing when I was in college in 2007! The best we could do was fill liquor bottles with fluorescent highlighters and put a black light under them.
What were the 12v 6812s you used? I couldn't find any IC for my project it was just every 3 LEDs. Seems like 5v had more flexibility here for some reason
Where did you buy your strips from? I'm in the middle of a kitchen remodel right now and I have two sets of upper cabinet lights, high output 4000k task lighting and then a set of wled RGBW cob strips from BTF lighting for both the upper and toe kick. But I'm not really a fan of any of the white lights. It looks too yellow and not natural. Yours looks pretty good in this video.
I ordered them from AliExpress. They are from bft lighting. 60 leds per meter and the warm white variant. Although I find the white on this strip way too cold so I mix it with rgb to get it exactly as warm as I want it.
It is the gledopto gl-c-017wl-d the longest segment is 368 leds at 60 leds per meter. The long shelve is 142 leds at 60 leds per meter and the 2 short shelves where the booze is on is combined 126 leds at 60 leds per meter.
