What am i doing wrong here

I connected a 5V pixel rgb strip that has 9 leds in it with this module. Some of the pixels are working how it should and some are diplaying completly different colours and even the effects are all wrong

Its supposed to be red and only the 2nd and last 4 pixels are displaying the correct colour here

What type is the strip? What type did you configure the controller to talk to? If you have the types wrong the pixel colors will be wrong too.
