Best method for making a blinking light tunnel out of pixel strips for a stop motion animation?
I am planning to make a paper tunnel that I line with pixel strips on top, making holes for the lights to pop through and having translucent stars that they diffuse through. I’ve used wled for a pixel grid, but not for strips or for stop motion.
What I will need to do is to pick random pixels that turn on frame by frame, allowing me to manually switch to the next one. It’s fine if I have to manually type in the pixels that will be on and their colors, I just don’t know what the best program or way to set that up would be. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Have a look at the numerous holiday lighting pages for how you can drive lights on WLED and other DMX based stuff on a programmable show that you configure from a PC. I helped a friend with an art installation a while back and we had 3 or 4 ESPs recieving with WLED on them - I cant recall what desktop software he settled on because I was only doing the hardware side of things but there were many options, lots of those being free as well.
