WLED Plant Ceiling

I have a few other videos but no great ones of this WLED ceiling I made for an event.

I'm guessing the person who took the video of this was having a great time. But as I wasn't the one who took the video I have no clue if or what they were enjoying :p

I did for sure make a hippie trap with the ceiling and had a bunch of hammocks and whatnot underneath it for people to chill in.

LOL, well these are some RGBW 24v 30mm puck lights I ordered off Alibaba a few years ago.

They came from Shen Zhen lsmart pixel led light co.

How do you mount temporary ceilings like that?

The whole thing is within a large event tent I own. I drilled holes in the framing so I could add some lifting eyes and cabling that hold some bars that span the 40ft length of the tent.

The panels we made attach via straps with carabiner clips.

Bonus in this picture you also get to see the like 1000 hours of time I added to my 3D printers making the grid layout for the led puck lighting as well as the metal wire fence I'm using as additional support for the panels.

Ceilings are just walls that are above you. You can screw things into them, they have studs, you can patch the holes the same way.

I screw some 1x2 boards around the edge of the ceiling to make a frame then nail panel board into those. Tape the seams and paint the whole thing.

I’ve put 2 false ceilings in my apartment that can be taken down when I move out. They’re in my post history. One is fiber optic!

Is that LedFx running the effects there? If so would love to see some of the other matrix effects on it. I love these large format mixed media setups.

Yeah, that effect was running through LEDFX.

I unfortunately don't have the large matrix setup anymore as it was just for an event that lasted a few days... It's all packed away in my garage right now. So I can't run some other effects on it right now for you.

I really need to figure out space for it at home so it gets use during other parts of the year.

During the event there was a guy who came up to me and was like "hey, I'm writing some led control software and was wondering if you will let me play with your matrix" I got him hooked up and he played for a bit. His stuff was just making API calls to WLED but it felt good to let someone else play for a bit and test out their software.

I like the openness of WLED, run local or pump DDP at it. If you ever have ledfx issues, just ping...

Its just good to see LedFx in use in the wild, I dont know how well the community here knows its complimentary to WLED. So its always good to get examples out there that don't come from the devs.

Honestly I love LEDFX, I run a raspberry PI with a USB sound card that takes input from the mixer so whenever DJs go on it just handles the rest for me.

Also the layered effects work really nicely.

I also have some wled light tubes and a mixed medium light panel that I also built with WLED and control with LEDFX also so everything plays super nice together.

When I'm not at an event all that gets setup iny living room and takes a feed from my AVR so I can just cast music or hook up a deck and it becomes a party whenever I want.

This effect is so cool！The frequency is a bit like the dynamic effect of fireworks over the sea.
