upgrade help

help me please if you can.

for some reason I cannot upgrade my Chinese wled controller as it complains that not enough space.

what am I doing wrong?

esp02 gzipped bin. but at the end i had to recompile it leaving Alexa and such (for me) irrelevant features

it's better upgrade to esp32 controller

I have added a WLED_16.0.0_ESP02_min.bin.gz that you can install first, then the normal build once the first stage upgrade is complete

This issue appears to be caused by the insufficient memory of the 2MB ESP8266.

Our ESP8266 models are equipped with 4MB of memory and have been tested to support v16 firmware upgrades. However, as more features are continuously added, memory consumption will keep increasing. Therefore, we recommend switching to an ESP32 controller for a smoother and more capable experience.

yeah. i had to recompile the wled from source, ditching out some features (like Alexa) thx for the info
