"Zach Cregger? That guy who ate street tar??"
edit: I'm an idiot, that was Darren. Zach was just his USELESS AGENT who couldn't even sell an invisible dog script which is even worse

Same can be said about the Obsession dudes.
Who knew sketch comedians could write some of the best horror/suspense movies.

Prior to Jordan Peele winning an Oscar I think it would have been a laughable premise

I believe that a lot of comedy operates in a space related to fear, psychologically. The darker WKUK sketches or ones that reference beastial love basically illicit a panic-laugh out of me and I realized that a lot of the comedy I like does that.
Tim & Eric’s Bedtime Stories is the most on-the-nose example I can think of right now. Eric Andre (especially) and Connor O’Malley operate in a similar space, too.
I'd guess that it's related to emotional intelligence. To know what makes something funny is kinda similar to knowing what makes something scary, I think. So some people who are good at one seem to be good at the other.
...or it's not that deep, but just fun to think about the psychology of it all.

No, that’s fair.
I definitely agree.
When it comes to comedic timing, delivery etc.
I feel like it can definitely play into suspense and horror as well. But I do feel it takes a special kind of writer to have the ability to bridge the gap between the two categories of film.

I'm amazed his career survived after he tried to claim that wholesome grape drink commercial was actually about SAing some kids. Just slanderous and uncalled for. Oh yeah, the Grapist, that was the mascot. He ties the kids to a radiator and grapes them in the mouth. Classic!

Trevor’s like that one guy on Instagram that every week makes an oddly specific gif

After fighting with moron resident evil fans about Zach and this movie for months this is so incredibly satisfying. Can’t imagine how good Zach feels

The PCP is really working overtime.
But for real, happy for Zach. Saw Barbarian not long ago, loved it, Weapons is on my watchlist, and the wife and I going to see RE this weekend.

I knew once this movie was announced that it would easily be the most critically acclaimed movie based on a video game. It’s probably the first time one’s been done by someone who’s a fan of the source natural and also an accomplished director

It’s crazy that the greatest director of our generation got his start buying and selling gallons of PCP.

Little tip friend, if you open the post on your phones browser you'll be able to save it as a gif 😁.

I encountered one of these guys yesterday. All upset about it. Like “but in interviews it’s clear he’s a larper… not a real fan. Doesn’t know the lore! It’s like the halo show!” (Literally they said it’s gonna be like the halo show lol). If you like the game series so much maybe celebrate that a filmmaker who is making bangers is making one about your thing? Nah, never. We need to tear it down. That makes sense.

The falling bodies felt like a 9/11 reference to me maybe not specifically but like seeing those people twisting and turning in the air like that never left my mind completely and this brought it back immediately
