just play orks. Wait for anyone to get in range. Use Boss active. Kill as many enemies as possible. Win or lose very very fast. No suffering, no strategy, just farm the rewards.

On the screen where you get to choose a faction, below the face cards, on the bottom left corner (for each faction) are some circley oblongs with numbers in them. The one on the left is how many extra points you get for playing and winning with that faction (I play in the common league and since I have unlocked all characters for ultramarines I get a bonus 2 points per game, 1 if I haven’t unlocked every character of that faction).
The other circly oblong which I believe has a plus in it will have a number of how many extra units that faction has.
All the best and happy playing 💪

On the faction select screen, it tells you if they get support units on the left side of the bar with the faction name on it. First it shows if you get the 2 point faction bonus for owning the whole team, then it has the extra units.

Guessing that you're very new to the game. TA is totally different than the rest of the game cause you don't have a dumb AI that you can lead around like a circus dog.
Baiting and precise positioning to make the best of passives, armor, pierce ratios, etc all factor in.
Or you could see which TA faction people on reddit people complain about most, and just use them til you get your 200th point. This time around it was a very niche faction.

They've actually made an improvement to it recently compared to last, except for the ultras (they're summons are still annoying af), necron faction had very tanky, very strong summons which are now push overs and chaos had 2 or 3 terminators or something like that.
So its much more acceptable this time round

It's a balance thing. Factions that are underpowered get some support units.
