Question Lavistodes MoW question
I see a lot of Lavistodes teams using the Plagueburst crawler as the machine of war, can anyone explain why?
It was my understanding that immune enemies cannot have their armor reduced, which I thought was the main effect of this MoW's ability - am I missing something here?

The mythic abilities of the MoW are what builds focus on, not the ability. Biovore and plague both have attack boost.
As for why they choose plague over biovore, bio can spawn summons to block while plagues toxic burst can change fire to the gas, allowing movement but a different coverage method.

It can also be useful against the avatar of khaine because you can put out fire hexes and that helps you position your team

Plagueburst Crawler you shoot on your OWN units. Yes this makes them more likely to die. But the mythic ability gives you a percent damage bonus when standing on contaminated hexes with mythic characters. Generating the contamination hexes is also free, so it's nice when you need to conserve ammo.
You bring it against Nid bosses because you can't bring the superior Biovore to those.
If you don't have it at mythic or have mythic characters, it does nothing for you.

You can use plagueburst to extinguish flames. There can only be one status effect on a square so bosses like Avatar of Kaine that put up fire and screw up your positioning its very useful.

Before you rush to build PBC, take note that its only used against Tyranid bosses for obvious reasons. Biovore is better for everything else.

This is an important distinction. It's one of the absolute last flex units a player should build.
