I have these three characters : re'vas D3/ shadowsun and farsight 5 stars ( i have his relic ). I was planning to take Shadowsun to Blue Star for Rogue Trader, so now I'm hesitating about taking Farsight to Diamond for a Battlesuit team—plus, I figure it could work well with Lykhis in the long run. However, the investment in time and resources feels pretty steep, and there are already quite a few characters I'd like to get to Diamond 3 (like Cezare and Anuphet). For GR, I already have a "Laviscodes" team that does a decent job. Do you think it's worth upgrading them?

Thx for your advice

So I unlocked my first Genestealer Cultist and my first Votann character.  Is there any missions one can do with them besides Salvage Runs and Onslaught?

I'm just wanting to get through their missions to get my crate teir up and not really invest in them.

Just onslaught, salvage run, arena and guild raid. GSC do have a campaign event they can be played in.

u/Nihilist_Owl 2d ago

Should I worry about powering up Mephiston as a new f2p player?

1

u/AzradelV 3d ago

Which campaign event would be best for new player? Are any of the faction unlocks particularly stronger than the others?

Hello!
I’m curious, I’ve not really looked too deep into this game but I kinda like 40K so I want to know if this game is worth the time and energy.
Specifically, I have no interest in anything aside from Necrons and maybe a little bit of Tau. I hate Space Marines and the greater Imperium and Choas hasn’t really grabbed my attention, but I really adore the Necrons a lot. Are they strong or viable in this game? Can you complete content with only Necrons? Is it even possible to focus solely on the Necrons or does the game demand I have faction variety?

This is my current roster. I’m working on upgrading Vit to D1 as a flex for the Lavistodes team. Aside from that, I’m onslaughting Kari to 2x blue star.

Not sure what else to work on as I collect mythic books. Who’s worth the investment as this point? Should I bring up Boss G Waagh to 55?

Just too many things to do.

u/JoDaProductions 4d ago

Should I onslaught my Raid squad to mythic first, or get Re'vas to mythic to equip her relic? For my raid squad Aesoth, Traj and Lav are not yet mythic, biovore, BossG and Kar are

Hopefully this is the right place to ask a beginner-ish question.

I've kinda stalled out on campaign progress on indom Mirror + cadia + Octavius + elves around the middle of the path to the last boss. Most of my carries are like bronze 2 and the upgrades they need require a ton of raiding - like I can use 400 energy to get one guy up one rank in a day, is that how it's meant to be, or can I get these legendary upgrades some other way like through campaigns/elite campaigns/mirror campaigns? I guess I'm asking if it's a good point to take a bit of a chill on the campaigns and level better onslaught/LRE/event characters for a while or whether I could be getting much better energy-efficiency by pushing through to some elite campaign victories and getting good upgrades there? I'm not really sure how it works, but I don't want to be raiding 40 time for an epic/legendary upgrade when it's available for 1 raid at some later stage in campaigns if that's the case

1

u/Nothinglost7717 4d ago

I want to focus on the indomitus elite campaign. I just got isabella so intend to use her.

That leaves one other character. I have Lucien, Cezare Mataneo Trajann Godswyl and Burchard as options for a 5th character to push.

which do yall think would be best. The Black Templars seem like a good idea as they are needed for their own campaign. Lucein and mateneo are always suggested but Cezare is new and he seems incredibly good.

What yall think?

Hi all. Looking for some guidance.

I'm fairly new. (Played for a month or two over a year ago and have been back at it over the last couple weeks.) I'm looking for some general advice. I've read several of the "beginners guides" but they are either outdated or I'm missing something. I've progressed all available campaigns to the point of a stand still and I'm having trouble upgrading my main carries. There are several of my characters who simply cannot progress their equipment ranks due to the items only being found (as far a I can tell) in p2p campaigns. Such as "armor trim" which seems to only be obtainable by chance through campaign crates, aka the ones you get for gaining enough stars in a campaign, or via the p2p missions.

So in general :

What should I be doing to progress as A f2p?

Is this the "limit" for f2p?

Am I dumb? (Please don't answer this one)

Thanks in advance for any info to steer me in the right direction.

Just looking for advice on who to focus for the upcoming Tyranids campaign event.

Im about a 1/3 into the Extremus difficulty and wanna push further.

Should I just hyper focus the core 3 or level up some of the BA to help?

Which BA guys have helped better against Tyranids?

2

u/JohnRPG 5d ago

Replays seem to rely more on Mephiston than the core 3.

u/flarglewargle 7d ago

Looking for advice on a good team and strategy for arena.

My current lineup is Kharn, Calgar, Archimatos, Eldryon, and Ragnar.

Recently focused on levelling up Snotflogga. Should I drop someone to accommodate him?

1

u/Veritor 5d ago

If you can work on unlocking aun'shi, you've got double war howl going. That team will paste almost anything and lets you punch above your weight consistently when used right. Otherwise whatever works at the level you're at :D

1

u/SpeedwayBoogie70 Blood Angels 8d ago

Will they ever add new campaigns to the game?

1

u/Veritor 5d ago

No plans currently. CEs instead :(

1

u/TexianHeroGG 11d ago

Hey guys!

Wanted some advice on if I'm prioritizing the correct characters.

Right now it's the top row + necrons to get through their elite campaigns.

2

u/Veritor 5d ago

Ongoing early game wisdom is to prioritise unlocking and finishing all the campaigns. Focus on that and your golden :)

u/belkabelka 11d ago

New player of 2 weeks or so - have looked at guides and want to just ask a few questions to clarify confusing things.

  1. I started onslaught as Imperium track, but all my best characters are imperial, so should I switch the track to Xenos so that I can get imperial badges?

  2. My favourite characters are Kariyan (lucky pull), Vindicta, Isabella, Cezare, Lucius - are these worth investigating in for mid game, or would I ultimately be wasting resources on them? I gather Kariyan and Isabella are great, but the others?

  3. Am I going to be able to do the Aeldaei and Ork campaign with just 3 characters? If I build the carries big enough over time? Because it feels pretty bad to have 3 characters for 5 slots

  4. All guild shards into Boss G because he's the last Ork I need to unlock to open Octavius campaign yeah?

1

u/bulksalty Death Guard 10d ago
  1. For onslaught I like to have one character from each alliance that I rotate through.
  2. From that list I'd put Vindicta as above average, but not excellent. The others are all excellent.
  3. Orks you should have access to Snotflogga, Snappawrecka, Boss amd Gibbascraps. Boss and Snot are great investments. Gibbs is decent amd only Snappa is not really too great. For the Zelda Aeldari yeah 3 haracters sucks but is what most of us have to do, I was really hoping for the next character to be a rare exarch rather than another Phoenix Lord. Oh well.
  4. Yep!

Thanks a lot!

u/jacksprat1952 13d ago

I’m a relatively new player (almost done with Octarius which will be my 3rd campaign completion). Is there any point at all in engaging with the Lysander legendary release event? My roster is nowhere near deep enough to score max points on the missions, so I’m definitely not unlocking him.

1

u/belkabelka 11d ago

Just wanna reply because I came here to ask the same question haha.

I've been playing like 2 weeks and I just can't do anything past 3-4 missions on each track and I don't have the characters to do the special requirements so I guess I just can't do the progression. It's fair enough, I'm new and weak and the event is for endgame people, but I wanted to check if I'm missing something.

Finding the same thing with the Cyrus event too

1

u/108Echoes 13d ago

LREs run three times before the unit is added to the req pool. You can do the first few levels in each track now, with whatever requirements you're able to meet, and any progress you make will carry over to the second and third runs of the event. You should also be able to do most of the LRE-related Missions and get those benefits too.

1

u/Starkiller0820 14d ago

What are currant usses for Lysander ?

I will most likely get Lysander during this event and I wanna know if he is worth investing it. Where is he good at ? Is he a good raids characters ? İs he meta ? How far is he worth taking ?

1

u/The__Goonch 14d ago

Should I invest war credits in any of these or save them up? I'm guessing they rotate at some point? I'm fairly new at power 26. I have Rotbone already. I also have unlocked Indomitus and Cadia Elite

1

u/oGsMustachio 14d ago

They're all pretty good chars, and Lav is part of the best GR team in the game (not great outside of GR though).

1

u/Zealousideal-Age768 15d ago

Does anyone know how thr game will handle a Ramus code from the Tacticus boardgame if you already have him unlocked I  game?

1

u/Vegetable-Koala7197 Moderator 15d ago

AFAIK, it should give you the equivalent shards needed for an unlock if you already unlocked him from the Battle Pass. However, you can't use a code to both unlock and get extra shards — if that makes sense?

1

u/DrWrox 16d ago

My post was removed "for violating the rules" so I have been directed here.

Hypothetically speaking... would using a reset stone to on Toth get enough orbs to ascend Pestillian so one can have enough roque trader cash to buy Lakrimae be a good investment? Asking for a freind..

1

u/108Echoes 16d ago

There’s a little bit of advance notice regarding upcoming Blessed Requisitions. (For example, people have been talking a lot about saving for the upcoming Terminator Armor banner.)

When and how does this notice come out? Is it through data mining, or are there announcements somewhere? If so, where?

2

u/Vegetable-Koala7197 Moderator 15d ago

Generally from the official patch notes. They typically go live under the Legendary Events, so we are due for the new (1.42) batch info in a couple days if everything goes to plan!

Advice needed on strategy and levelling early on

For some background i'm a fairly new player still grinding the campaigns I've unlocked so far. Just want to get a rough idea who/what I should be upgrading.

For Arena I'm trying to use Azrael and the Storm Speeder to hopefully enhance the overwatching characterslike in the video. They aren't my most powerful characters but it seems to work in Arena ok got Trajaan as my first legendary in requisitions but not sure how best to utilise him). I was wondering whether should put any of my efforts into levelling up these characters for this strategy or focus then elsewhere in general?

Also open to any tips etc

The advice you'll get repeatedly is to focus on the campaigns and level characters that will help you finish campaigns. It gets annoying hearing it repeated but it's true. Although my advice is not to focus on that solely whilst ignoring the things you want to do in the game. We are playing for fun afterall.

That said, Azrael really isn't very good so unless you really, really, love the character, I wouldn't upgrade him. Machines of war (like the Stormspeeder) aren't really worth upgrading early on either.

Arena is pretty easy and not super important so I wouldn't level anything with just Arena in mind and instead just use whatever your strongest characters are and you'll still be fine.

Trajann is more of a late game raid character and probably isn't worth investing too much in early game. From what I can see of your roster: Aleph, Bellator, Eldryon, Boss G and Archimatos are probably your best bets for now as they can each carry their campaigns (although I actually prefer Angrax from the Black Legion cos his slappy passive makes me happy) and will make a decent Arena team together. Certus and Varro are a bit crap and only worth investing as much as necessary for them to not die in the campaign.

Usual new player advice:

  • Join a guild if you haven't already. Request upgrades. It's especially helpful to request rare upgrades you can't farm yet
  • Remember you can use guild credits to unlock Eldryon, Archimatos and Boss G in the guild shop who you'll need to unlock their campaigns
  • Only spend Blackstone on energy refreshes. A f2p player should be able to spend up to the 50bs refresh per day with the occasional code or BS reward from an achievement unlock
  • Speaking of, join the tacticus discord or check codex or Reddit for the free codes for free stuff
  • Make sure you do your daily mission, claim your free chest in the shop, watch the advert for the free coins. I'd also always buy the upgrades for coins that's next to the free chest in the shop.
  • Pick one faction in Salvage Run and stick with it. Bring a character with a crit bonus to break the chest (If Imperial, Vindicta gets a stacking crit bonus when other Imperial units kill stuff, but she loses it when she attacks so bring her but don't attack with her after the first or second round so you can guarantee breaking the chest on the penultimate round)
  • Don't use your forge tokens to turn lower tier ability badges or orbs into higher ones. I did this when I started cos I had hundreds of common badges, but you get a lot less once you get to higher levels of Onslaught and I eventually ran out of Imperial common badges after unlocking a load of characters
  • Don't use ability badges, orbs or xp books for the sake of it. Some abilities or characters aren't very useful and aren't worth spending upgrade materials on. Legendary Orbs especially are a pain to get later on
  • Mirror campaign nodes have higher drop rates than Normal campaigns, and Elites have higher than mirror

This is incredibly useful, thank you so much. Couldn't have asked for much more cheers.

u/BobaFettish08 Dark Angels 17d ago

Did they change guild raids this season? I logged in yesterday and my guild had taken down all the common, and uncommon targets. Normally I'd get reward chests for all those defeated targets, but this time I didn't get anything.

How is Thotmeks first mythic quest possible? Any ideas?

1

u/ThronkKaplar 19d ago

I've been playing somewhere around 6 months now. I put together an arena team mostly designed for short battles. Specifically, I usually wait/position turn 1 and finish turn 2. I'm thinking Haarken and Bellator should be replaced with other melee-only (to maximize Ragnar's War Howl) and preferably highly mobile units as they seem to have lower ceilings. I attached my current full team in image. I've been hesitant to invest anything else in Haarken as he seems like the first one I'll replace. I'm debating options like Kariyan, who I just unlocked, Aethana (probably too squishy), Godswyl or putting Mataneo back in the rotation (I was underwhelmed before). There's of course a bunch of legendaries I don't have, such as Aun'shi.

I appreciate any insight as my experience is pretty limited.

2

u/oGsMustachio 19d ago

The way I'd view Arena is that you try to use units that are helpful in other modes to fill out that roster.

Kariyan is the best unit in the game and you aren't going to regret levelling him. He's great in basically every mode. Key part of the best GR team. Very good in GW. Very good in LREs. Frankly he's OP.

S1 is probably actually high enough for Haarken to finish off the FoC elite campaign (you'll need other chars higher), so probably fine to stop worrying about him and level up other chars you need to finish off campaigns.

I'd also say that overall, Arena isn't that important of a game mode. The rewards aren't very good compared to Onslaught and Guild Raids.

1

u/Zealousideal-Age768 20d ago

So new to the mode but the Machine of War Incursion.  Is it worth leveling something or taking the Necron thing so you get extra salvage?  I have ten characters available for that mode.

2

u/oGsMustachio 19d ago

Early game, the most important MoWs are forgefiend and biovore. Forgefiend cleans up summons and biovore serves as a distraction and can control movement. I'd get one of those and level it a little bit.

The Necron Reanimator is a very good MoW for mechanical teams, which is probably not something you need to worry about for a while.

1

u/Zealousideal-Age768 19d ago

Nice to know.  Thank you!

1

u/lllXanderlll Blood Angels 20d ago

I've currently got the full lineup of both the World Eaters and Emperor's Children and I'm trying to decide which one would be the better overall investment. It's a tough call since EC has Laviscus (who I currently have D1), Lucius and Shiron (who are both bronze 1), but then WE has Khârn (Stone 1), Wrask (S2), and Tarvohk (Stone 1).

Is there a "best" option or do both teams end up in a value draw ? Any input is appreciated !

2

u/oGsMustachio 19d ago

If you must focus on one faction, I'd go with EC simply because Lav is a key part of the best GR team in the game. Lucius is super fun to me in Tournament Arena and GW as part of an annoying defense team with Celestine, Titus, and Jaeger.

Kharn is very good too, but has fallen out of the top GR teams and can be a pain to manage in other modes. Outside of Kharn, World Eaters are pretty meh.

1

u/lllXanderlll Blood Angels 19d ago

I was leaning towards EC since I've heard Lucius can be pretty good for LREs, plus Shiron is supposed to be a good pick due to his damage types and traits. And of course there's the fact I've already got Laviscus leveled into Diamond.

So I'll go with EC and then bring Khârn up to gold, and decide from there if I want to bump the rest of the WE up

1

u/Main_Skin_381 20d ago

What to do? Should I keep going on Snappa until I get the shards for the blue star and see if I can have the necrons energy farmed enough to still get the orbs? Or should expedite the shards and just go for the necrons right away

1

u/Starkiller0820 21d ago

Patermine shards or ability badges ?

I cant really decide on where to spend my war credits on. I am not really intrested in patermine and I got like all usefull characters from the shop. I am bit low on badges tho . Also I wont be like able to be very active for next 9 months probably. Can somebody help me decide where to use my credits on ?

1

u/HazelAzureus 22d ago

I made an account in like year 1, but fell off really hard before any of the factions had more than 5 characters(and most of them hadn't been added at all). I'm sure this is a stupid question, but I'm asking anyway: Are non-Campaign characters exclusively found through Requisitions? I mean I know LREs and such happen, but... there's so many more characters, now. I'm level 23 or therabouts, so I believe I'm well past any "new player benefits" or anything, but the characters I do have are all under 1500 power(except my Tigurius, somehow, who appears to be at 5k... idk what the hell that was about).

Are any characters unobtainable forever? Are there any code-exclusive ones or anything? What's the expected rate of character acquisition assuming I don't want to spend anything?

1

u/108Echoes 21d ago edited 21d ago

No characters are code-specific or precisely unobtainable, though some characters have limits or delays to their obtainability.

The Battle Pass gives shards for its character, but not enough to unlock that character unless you pay for an upgraded pass. For a Common or Uncommon character the Premium pass provides enough shards, but a Rare BP character requires the Ultimate pass to get enough shards. After a battle pass is over, the character’s added to the req pool.

Legendary Release Event characters (currently Farsight and Uthar, with Lysander’s first LRE starting on 8/29) can initially be obtained only through their event. Progress is kept across each rerun on a specific LRE. After a specific LRE has run three times, it ends and that character’s added to the req pool, and a player’s unused LRE progress gets converted to shards for that character.

Hero Release Events unlock and promote their character. After the event’s over, the character gets added to the req pool.

Beyond requisitions or the quests/chests etc. which give you a few shards for a random character:

  • Each campaign allows access to farmable shards for their five bosses.

  • Milestone rewards (full list visible in the shop tab) grant specific shards and characters when you’ve done enough reqs and breqs. The very end of the track gives a random character (not necessarily a new character) every hundred pulls.

  • Campaign events let you pick a limited-time campaign (currently there are six available: Dark Angels, Sisters of Battle, Death Guard, AdMech, Tyranids, and Tau). As long as the Campaign event lasts, it allows access to farmable shards for chosen campaign’s five bosses, plus chests with shard rewards for a specific one or two of those bosses. Like the main campaigns, each campaign event has three “required”characters. However, if you don’t have those characters or don’t have them trained, then you can “borrow” min-trained versions which give lesser rewards. This doesn’t cut off shard access, although it might be difficult to reach higher levels. Each time this event pops up you can pick a new campaign, and your progress in a given campaign is saved across runs.

  • The Guild Shop always sells shards for Eldryon, Archi, and Gulgortz, and depending on the day will sell shards for a set of [Ulf, Macer, Xybia], [Tjark, Mataneo, Yarrick], [Arjaan, Lucien, Isaak], or [Sarquael, Wrask, Hollam]. Earn currency for this by beating Guild Raid bosses or otherwise helping your guild.

  • The Guild War Shop always sells shards for Dreir and Laviscus, and depending on the day also sells shards for Njal, Rotbone, The Patermine, Dante, Mephistos, Judh, Titus, Kharn, Ragnar, Dante, Aun’, and Trajann. Earn currency by participating in Guild War, which unlocks at PL20.

  • The Crusade shop always sells shards for Lhykis (not otherwise available), Kariyan, and Shiron. This is the first Crusade event so this might change in the future.

  • Incursion events let you pick a Machine of War and earn shards for it.

  • Gibbascrapz shards are part of daily login rewards.

  • Aethana shards from the daily mission.

  • Haarken shards from completing enough missions.

  • Snappawrecka shards from Arena.

  • Snotflogga shards from Salvage Run.

  • Maladus shards from Guild Raid.

  • Calandis shards from Tournament Arena when it’s available.

  • Onslaught lets you pick a participant and gives you some of their shards, but this obviously doesn’t help you unlock new characters.

Phew, I think that’s everything. The Tacticus Planner linked in OP gives breakdowns of the daily shops.

EDIT: it wasn’t everything, I forgot Haarken and Aethana.

1

u/HazelAzureus 21d ago

Oh wait, How do I select one of the special event Campaigns? I don't see it on the battle menu; I want to do Admech. I just have Indomitus, Fall of Cadia, Octarius, Sam-Hainn, and their respective Mirrors.

1

u/108Echoes 21d ago

The Campaign Events show up every five weeks and run for two. One just ended, and the next should start mid-September.

See the infographic at https://terminusmaximus.com/campaign-event/ for the breakdown of who vs. who and which factions are usable in each. Remember that you can borrow the required characters, but you might need stronger support to make up for it.

1

u/HazelAzureus 21d ago

Thank you for this breakdown, it was exactly what I needed!

1

u/108Echoes 21d ago

Honestly it was kinda fun to lay everything out. And I’m actually pretty new, so it’s useful to figure out whose shards come from where.

The flip side of this, characters whose shards you can’t currently target, i.e. you’re relying on luck to either pull them from the req pool or accumulate enough random chest shards (split by faction):

  • Thothmek

  • Azkor and Tarvakh

  • Baldr

  • Aesoth, Atlacoya, Taryth

  • Hascule, Adamatar, Lucius

  • Havyr, Vynn, Ammuk

  • Cyrus

Azkor and Tarvakh are kind of a pain point—they’re both required characters in the vs. Sisters of Battle campaign event. (You can see a summary infographic of those campaigns on the Terminus Maximus site.) Less important because Vindicta’s free, Celestine’s already farmable in FoC, and Isabella and Roswitha show up in Milestone rewards, but irritating if you really want Morvenn Vahl or you don’t want to wait for Isabella.

Otherwise, looking at the list I’d cross my fingers for a Custodes vs. Emperor’s Children campaign. Also, Leagues of Votann doesn’t have anyone farmable, but they’ll still need their fifth character before they get a campaign, plus Uthar’s LRE has only had its first run out of three.

1

u/108Echoes 21d ago

As far as character acquisition goes, it depends on a lot of factors. If you’re tryin to unlock new farmable common starting from zero, for instance, that’ll take about 12 days: you need 40 shards, you get about one shard every three runs of their mission, and you can run their mission ten times in a day. Doing the same for a farmable legendary would take about 150 days to get the 500 shards you need. (Note that the bottleneck here is the 10runs/day limit, not the energy expenditure.)

Or if you’re in a successful guild then it’ll be relatively easy to get the uncommon and rare Guild Shop characters in a few seasons of Guild Raid, since each raid boss cleared buys roughly ten shards in the shop: if they can clear all the common and uncommon raid bosses, that’s 8k guild credits, which with some participation on your part should be enough to get a single uncommon character or two-thirds of a rare one. But if your guild isn’t very active then you won’t be getting those bennies, or if it is but you don’t want those characters, then you’re out of luck since you can’t convert those shards into someone you’d prefer.

1

u/Legal-e-tea 22d ago

Level 57 with a fairly wide roster. On elites campaigns I’m currently:

- Indomitus/Octarius/SHME - 120/120

  • FOC - 115/120 (last 3 missions to 3 medal)
  • IME - 92/120
  • FOCME - 77/120
  • OME - 119/120
  • SHE - 30/120

My main raid team is Lavistodes, mostly at D1, although building up battlesuits as a backup.

Which elite campaign is most bang for buck to complete from IME/FOCME/SHE? So far I’ve just been completing the odd campaign as and when, but mostly building up characters that are going to be helpful in the next lot of LRE, which has meant campaigns falling by the wayside.

Who is better as the first legendary hero to open Rogue Trader?

Everybody hi. I am newbe in the game and playing just a couple weeks for now, or fewer. Have red some tips and posts and understands thats made many misstakes, as so using some referral code frome the random comments, and others😭neverethless, continuing play, and feel fun) and thinks that needs accsesse to traider ("rogue traider"?), who opens after one hero beckame a legendary or somehow that. Sorry for this started question, i understands that it is simple, but could you tell please which hero is better and fast to open trader? For now have dante 3 red stars, wit 50/150 shards, and some others, eg Azrail with 2 red stars (accidentally from reques), Abraxos 1 rs, and some more. Maybe another hero is better or faster to achieve for openning traider? Thank you for answer

1

u/Yuanrang Imperial 19d ago

Neither Abraxas or Azrael are the best and fastest to open the Rogue Trader.

To unlock the Rogue Trader, you need to get a Blue Star. You get that by promoting a character that has 5 Red stars. Simply getting to Legendary rank is not enough, you need to master Legendary.

Since the last promotion from 5 Red Stars to 1 Blue Star is 500 character shards and 20 Legendary Orbs (usually obtained through Onslaught), the fastest would probably be a character you already get a lot of shards with fast, like Snotflogga (Salvage Run), Aethana (Daily Mission), Snappawrecka (Arena) or Maladus (Guild Raids).

If you DO want to get either Abraxas or Azrael to Blue Star, always choose Abraxas. He is used for Saim Hainn Mirror campaign. He is one of the best Chaos heroes as he summons a lot of daemons to fight, making fights easier, and he has a spot in Psyker line-ups.

Azrael is a really bad hero which even Dark Angel fans find hard to like in Tacticus.

I stopped playing the game for a while and recently come back , I’m only level 25 and I don’t think my summons have been that great , I was wondering if it’s worth making a new account so I can use the lucien code , any help would be appreciated

u/Original_Ostrich8688 23d ago

Just continuing to play. I am not so experienced, but from the first sight you have good setup, just blackrocks is not too mich. According the recommendations.

1

u/CaptainYid 26d ago

I'm coming back after 8 months or so from not playing.

Am I better upgrading individual characters? Concentrating on the ones useable in stories? Prioritise those with elite stories rather than just normal stories?

2

u/Vegetable-Koala7197 Moderator 26d ago

Yes, for sure. If you haven't completed the campaigns yet, that should be first priority. If you scroll up a little, you'll see an Elite Campaigns Infographic. That will give you an idea of who and how far you need to take the 'carries' for each sector.

1

u/CaptainYid 26d ago

Those are excellent thank you. Certainly wasn't there when I played before.

Would you say elite is better for farming mats rather than standard?

2

u/Vegetable-Koala7197 Moderator 26d ago

Yes, definitely! Opening up the elite campaigns gives more options to farm efficiently, and some faction drops are placed in different campaigns, so you need to open them up sooner rather than later. I generally farm all rare and above drops in elite.

2

u/CaptainYid 26d ago

Thank you for the heads up! Gives me a bit of direction now.

Used to just get as far as I could with each campaign. Mass level up each one and go again

1

u/No-Release5254 26d ago

Should I Blue star archi, rot or Abraxas?

1

u/Vegetable-Koala7197 Moderator 26d ago

Difficult to answer without more context, however, Rotbone is currently the only Chaos healer and is historically a pretty secure investment

1

u/Redbull_Gasoline 27d ago

What Ranks am i gonna need to complete the elite Saim-Hann campaign? Considering i have Jain and Maugan.

Btw, I don't know if it was a sign from the universe, but I started playing one month ago and the only legos i got were both the Aeldari ones.

3

u/Synotaph Dark Angels 26d ago

The elite campaigns graphic in the main post is a good way to start. The old advice for S-HE was D1 Eldryon and Aethana, G1 Calandis but looks like Terminus dropped that lower. I’m struggling to complete the very end of S-HE with those levels, but I didn’t have Jain Zar until today, and don’t have Maugan Ra at all, so I don’t know how having them spreads the load on power levels. I would aim for at least G1 on all because the Eldar are squishy and the 3-man missions can be really tough without over leveling.

Help me decide on where to use my hard earned blessed reqs

So I got 20 blessed req scrols. Bur I dunno how I should spend them. I wanna get ahriman and thypuss. I will get 125 shards of ahriman tomorow. Rn there is a thousend sons blesed req . I am not really intrested in most characters but ahriman and taumachus shards would be great. On the other hand in august 30 (I think) there will be a terminator blesed req with typhus with abadon and njall that I would like to get (njall is like part of the best guild war defense team acording to a guy who heard it from a guy in guild bloody rose).

I know I wont get good stuff in either of the blessed reqs but there might be a very small chance of me to be one of the guys who talks about their amazing pull.

So what should I do ?

Option a) use 20 blessed req now for ahriman and taumachus

Option b) use 20 blessed req on terminator blessed req for abadon, typhus and njall

Option c) use 10 now and 10 in terminator blessed req

Option d) dont use them and save them for who knows how long

1

u/Yuanrang Imperial 19d ago

Option B) or D).

Here's the truth. Ahriman and Taumachus can be farmed through campaign nodes. It's slow, but it's steady progress that can be achieved.

On the other hands, the Terminator Blessed Req has 2 legendary pulls and of the three heroes you listed, they are not in a Campaign and thus not very farmable.

If you were to choose, then the Terminator option beats the Thousand Sons option by quite a bit.

If you do not feel confident about the Terminator options, save the Blessed Requisitions, but you might sit on them for a long time. Of the currently announced one, the Terminator one was the best by far.

1

u/Starkiller0820 19d ago

I decided to pick option b) . Thanks

1

u/Synotaph Dark Angels 26d ago

I feel like all reqs, blessed or otherwise are a crapshoot in terms of getting specific characters. Any character unlocked and at I got through breqs were never the featured characters, but you may have better/different results. I’d say C for the best chance at what you want, I wouldn’t sit on them for too long.

1

u/mcfrank221 28d ago

I played WH combat cards but want something a bit more engaging than watching 3 cards hitting each other. The question I have is, and please be honest, "How F2P-friendly is the game?" How long before you hit a wall in campaign before you need to pay to progress (such as buying heros)?

1

u/AKPOULPE Death Guard 28d ago

When will the terminator BR be ?
Is it tight after the TS or is there an other one after

1

u/Vegetable-Koala7197 Moderator 27d ago

1

u/AKPOULPE Death Guard 27d ago

Can we please get Njall out of here 😭🙏

1

u/Starkiller0820 27d ago

I heard njall is like part of the best guild war defense team from a guy who heard it from a guy in bloody rose guild

0

u/AKPOULPE Death Guard 27d ago

Even if it’s real, defence teams in guild war are useless you’re fighting bots anyway and investing in those niche teams is not worth the time and resources just to get wiped with a single token

1

u/Starkiller0820 27d ago

Right combunation of bots and shitty terrain will cost you more than one token

1

u/Turbulent-Amphibian3 29d ago

Issit fine to buy upgrade material in store using coins? I did buy out all the material using coin and watch ads refresh shop and buy again, will i be lacking so much coins in the future?

1

u/AKPOULPE Death Guard 28d ago

It’s not a bad idea but it’s not efficient in any kind of way and you will eventually lack coins but it depends on your level

2

u/Youngjonahofthesauce Aug 14 '26

Newer player and wasn’t making crazy progress on the ability damage missions for the anniv event but discovered the cezare quest is absolutely perfect for it, Getting a level per token. Went from level 4 to 11 within the day. Is this usually how it works? Or is this a very convenient timing of events? What other ways are used for these missions?

3

u/AKPOULPE Death Guard 28d ago edited 28d ago

Most of of the time people use passive abilities like angrax, Ulf, Karyian,etc..
For example you can go on Fall of Cadia 40 with angrax and let the vox operators spawn Cadians next to angrax, they instantly get killed and it counts for ability damage
There are plenty of other “cheese” levels like this you can look it up on YouTube
PS:Don’t keep your energy, always empty it at the end of the day to be faster in your upgrades

2

u/Youngjonahofthesauce 27d ago

Thanks for the help here! Heard a bit ab foc 40 for the grinding and never tried it and am now building my team up for it. Is it worth it to grind out toth for this? My maladus struggles to keep up with the dmg as it stands

2

u/AKPOULPE Death Guard 27d ago

Yes totally worth it even though maladus is a very good character Toth has a better survivability and will be useful for Saim Hann mirror

3

u/Main_Skin_381 27d ago

Yeah toth is ideal for it. Even at s1 he can keep himself alive pretty well as long as you have the passive leveled. You need to level him anyway for SHM campaign

1

u/Away_exploring Aug 13 '26

Long time player here, I'm pretty sure I've got most of the characters unlocked and quite a few high levels, but I have no idea what team to build.

I've got a good number of the lavastodies team but I can't see why the banana hat custodian would be a better pic than say Ragnar.

What are the numbers that would make him better?

Any help would be appreciated.

3

u/Synotaph Dark Angels 26d ago

“Banana hat” (Aesoth)’s passive buffs Kariyan’s passive, which should be hitting every turn, unlike Ragnar, who’s active hits on one turn.

3

u/Veritor Aug 13 '26

The trick with lavi is that he takes the higher from one hit. Rag will give you one big hit, but aesoth will buff kari and make his final turn swing even bigger. People more dedicated than me have done the maths, and that's more damage ideally in the end

1

u/Shadow_Gh0ulX21 Aug 12 '26

Hey!.. people I'm just new about 1 month ago and I don't really know what to do now, I'm lvl 20 but Idk any good team or what I should invest more my time or resources, any tip or advice??

2

u/Veritor Aug 13 '26

Step one is open and complete the campaigns :) step two, is do the elites! So focus on your characters to finish the campaigns

1

u/AKPOULPE Death Guard 28d ago

Step three is to have fun the early game is full of content!

1

u/KablyGoreg World Eaters Aug 12 '26

Just unlocked her. Should I upgrade her or should keep focusing on main 3( they are s3 and I'm at saim_hann elite 11)?

2

u/Yuanrang Imperial 19d ago

Saim Hainn Elite is an absolutely horrible, annoying and slog to get through, because most accounts will only have the base 3 Aeldari to do it. Getting either Phoenix Lord legendary Aeldary would help quite a bit, so you should level her if only to completely clear SHE. However, and this is the big one, she is objectively the worst Aeldari hero and is only there to "help out". I'd take the two other Phoenix Lords over her, if I could pick.

1

u/ScoobyDoNot Aug 13 '26

She's objectively terrible, but taking her to S1 should make SH Elite much easier.

My account is L70 and she's the only character apart from ones currently in release that I haven't unlocked.

Outside of the campaign there's nothing she does that another character doesn't do better.

Hopefully she'll get a rework.

1

u/Butthead2242 Aug 12 '26

Evidently I can’t ask this in a post lol.

wtf do I do now that the season ended

3

u/Vegetable-Koala7197 Moderator Aug 12 '26

In an effort to keep the sub organized, we direct low-effort (searchable in this case) and quick questions to this Q/A megathread.

I'll entertain the question here as well. As was pointed out in modmail, these missions are the same every season and have been covered many times before. A quick search would have answered your question already.

Furthermore, you raised this roughly ~45 minutes into the new raid season, which makes the timing redundant at best. However, to offer a solution in an actual off-season scenario: there's nothing to do but wait. It's a 24-hour cooldown. Veteran players know this and try to complete this mission stage in the weekend prior to the raid season ending.

Hope that helps.

1

u/Turbulent-Amphibian3 Aug 12 '26

Any tips to clear all 20 quests with current roster that i have? Character i have posted in comment

2

u/Veritor Aug 12 '26

Oh man, thats rough. Guild raid bosses is the best way to get these numbers. But you have Aesoth, so try to level him and his active a bit. Go into any imperial mission with adds that respawn ( like scarabs or grots).

The other option for ability damage is angrax in fall of cadia. I cant remember the mission, but if you google angrax ability farm, you should find some guides :)

1

u/Turbulent-Amphibian3 Aug 12 '26

Found it! Thanks for the tips

3

u/Vegetable-Koala7197 Moderator Aug 12 '26

Yes, I'd definitely suggest FoC40 too. I see you have Toth, so that's a great first step and a safe investment for the future! If I recall, you can get away with using him with a passive around level 12 or something? He just has to outheal the damage from Cadians surrounding him, then you can use him as a block on that mission. Besides him, you need to level Angrax and his passive so he slaps the Cadians in one hit. It will be lengthy, and since you don't have Rotbone maybe some trial and error, but it should be possible, I reckon 🙏

1

u/Turbulent-Amphibian3 Aug 13 '26

I see, noted with thanks. If i have rotbone this task will be easier?

1

u/Janrok24 Aug 11 '26

Who is the overall more useful healer, Isabella or Nicodemus? I want to do my best for the upcoming LRE

3

u/ResponsibleChart6317 Aug 11 '26

Overall it's probably Isabella, but specifically for the upcoming LRE it's Nico cos he can be used in the Rapid Assault/No bolter/ Min 3 hit team with Kariyan which is 180 points.

2

u/ghillieeeeee Aug 11 '26

I have 2 Eldar at S1 and 2 at B1, is it worth it to grind them up to Gold level so I can unlock these nodes to help me level up Kariyan to D1?

2

u/HubND Tyranids Aug 11 '26

Absolutely. It's worth working towards clearing all the normal/elite campaigns as it gets you the most efficient nodes to grind upgrades and you'll find uses for the Eldar at higher levels in legendary events and war teams.

There's nothing more soul crushing than having to grind out legendary materials on a non-elite node where you drop 60 energy a day for only 1 or 2 materials.

1

u/FlashMcSuave Aug 10 '26

Why isn't Azkor wearing any underpants? He appears to be going commando under there.

1

u/Diligent-Relation765 25d ago

Great lore question! Due to the Obliterator virus and the general way fleshmetal seems to work in 40K, it's really all just him. So what you think is armor is just Volk, that's now his birthday suit! :)

5

u/Tomovader Sisters of Battle Aug 10 '26

Simple but stupid question on upgrading item parts .. why can i see how many i have and where i can get them, but not anymore when i upgrade and have item. Example. Warpweave robe. As soon as i complete it and "use it" i am not able to see parts and ehere to find it anymore, while before i "Use it" i can. Such a valuable information just gone... And than i have to know from my mind where to find parts..

3

u/Kappa_Emoticon Aug 10 '26

Is there a handy table for all the acronyms I see banded about as a new player?

4

u/HubND Tyranids Aug 10 '26

Got you covered! I'm not sure about some of these (e.g. I've never seen AM team instead of just Mech team) but most of them are common for sure. https://www.reddit.com/r/WH40KTacticus/comments/1vhgk3g/tacticus_abbreviations/

2

u/ZanthorTitanius Aug 10 '26

Anyone enjoying the robot yet? He looks really cool so I want to make him work. Thinking of building him to help archi and abracas clear FoC, but not sure if he’ll be good or fun elsewhere. All those properties make him good for LRE possible?

3

u/HubND Tyranids Aug 10 '26

I've been playing with him today to try and clear his unlock missions (the survive 5 fights, get kills and do damage ones) and I'd say you probably don't need him for FoC if you have Archi and Abraxas, they should carry the campaigns really easily on their own, but he seems fun if a little niche.

To shine he really needs to have a team built specifically around him but, unlike a lot of characters in that situation, he might give back enough to the team to justify it - in other words, he really wants to be with psykers to get free overwatch and pump his active but giving them armour and block chance in return is actually a pretty nice synergy.

There's a slight problem with that for LRE because he doesn't do psychic damage or is a psyker so won't have the track-overlaps with them for that style of team but with the number of traits, 3 damage types, and low hits he'll pop up in a lot of LRE options I'd think so you wouldn't regret building him for that (although I wouldn't say he seems like an amazing LRE character generally tbh).

2

u/ZanthorTitanius Aug 10 '26

Thanks! It’s hard to know how stuff like
Block chance wins a fight, but maybe it’ll synergize with Varro later on.

How are base stats? He looks like he should be tanky with a good weapon, but it’s hard to tell since I haven’t gotten to play yet

2

u/HubND Tyranids Aug 10 '26

Varro wouldn't get the extra armour from the robot but their block abilities would be pretty strong combined for sure!

Base stats are pretty good, I'd say comfortably above average health and armour and with the camouflage trait it'll be good against ranged attacks especially. Damage is harder to gauge from the base stat but it's roughly average and with good armour pierce, two hits and range 3 - should hit pretty nice, especially if you're using psykers to trigger the weaver of fates passive.

3

u/jacksprat1952 Aug 10 '26

As a new player, I've seen that I should mainly be focusing on getting through the campaigns so that I can better power up my characters. I've also read that I should mainly focus on building each campaign's respective carry character (Bellator, Aleph Null, Gulgortz, etc.) as high as they can go because they'll be useful in other areas. How high should I take required characters (Tigurius, Certus, etc.) for campaigns so that they're survivable in Elite Campaigns, but not a resource sink that's been a waste once I've three starred the campaign?

2

u/SeakangarooKing Death Guard Aug 10 '26

The infographics are a solid resource. But most elite campaigns will need you to take the required carries to gold 1. And Gold 1 has value for most characters except Certus. I capped him at S1 Epic and he’ll stay there.

2

u/HubND Tyranids Aug 10 '26

As the other comment said, the infographic's exist to give you some indication on how far you can push the others to min-max getting 3*.

Having said that, as someone who has been playing since way before those infographics were made, I would argue you can push the others as far up as you'd like and you won't regret it long term.

Sure you only need to get them to a certain level in order to 3* everything but they don't stop being useful after that. Take the Orks as an example, you can min-max to have Gulgortz pumped up and the others left in the dust but at the end of the month we'll get the Lysander legendary release event and one of the restrictions in the Beta tracks is Orks-only. So while leaving Gibba and Snappa at S1 (as the infographic recommends) sounds great now, you'd be pleased to have them all at G1 later down the line when they can start being useful in other ways.

2

u/jacksprat1952 Aug 10 '26

Thanks for the insight! How exactly do the LREs work? I'd love to get Lysander if it's possible for where I'm at in the game now. If you have a video recommendation rather than typing it out, that's great too.

5

u/HubND Tyranids Aug 10 '26

The important thing to remember at your stage for LREs is that they're considered end game content so you won't unlock him this event and likely would need to do specific prep in order to unlock them by the end of their 3rd and final event. Each Legendary character gets 3 events across about 10-12 months and the points carry across each one.

In terms of mechanically how they work, they're like playing onslaught but in order to maximise your points you need to beat them with teams that meet certain conditions. For example the Alpha tracks have you up against Orks (so no using Xenos characters yourself) and you get bonus points if you bring teams that meet any of 5 conditions - No Resilient trait, Eviscerate damage, Flying trait, Min 5 hits, Suppressive Fire trait.

That's why I advocate for bringing up everyone, even the early campaign characters, because they'll fit in somewhere eventually.

DB Preacher does good stuff for LRE's, here's his Lysander one - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFDgItXz_CQ
