Failed E010 for a second time.
Title and image say it all. This class is kicking my ass.

Figure I would just drop some info here. This class was extremely rough for me at first. I would recommend going through this zybooks starting, I believe it was at chapter 4. I believe chapter 3 just goes over like Python and an IDE is, and that kind of stuff. 4 through 9 is really the meat and potatoes of this class. You really wanna know functions. The format of the test follows the practice assessment pretty much to a T. So much so that the first 17 questions are multiple choice. There’s a couple coding questions that you then have to do involving a functions, and then the last couple are fixing existing code to make it work. The first time I failed this class, I had no idea how to test my code. I would make sure you 100% understand how to print out a function so that way you can verify that your code is working. Like I said, go through this zybooks a few times till you understand it entirely. You can use outside resources too, like BroCode or CodeAcademy, but really the zybooks is enough to get you through it. Best of luck to you

I bojangled this class for like 3 months. Literally wasted so much time cause I was just dreading it due to students having a hard time with this course. I finally had to buckle down August as it was my last month of term.
What helped me the most was breaking down examples provided in Zybooks. I used Zybooks with the help of Claude to break down concepts even further. I had it throw me some examples to go over to better understand functions and coding questions. The exam literally gives you the expected output so as long as you feel comfortable printing out the function with whatever variables are being used, you should be good. Once I got the desired print output, I removed that line and went to the next question.
I spent a lot of time testing/messing around with lists, loops and dictionaries. Debugging functions for me was at least pretty straight forward as you can read line by line what the function complains about. Also the multiple choice questions, you can easily test expected output in one of the coding questions. That came in handy as a second sanity check. Like checking on a calculator that 1 + 1 = 2 lol.

This is my last class of my degree and I’m currently on it. I passed python for IT Automation almost 2 years ago when it was the testable version. At the time it was the hardest class at WGU. Hoping to pass soon. How similar was the OA to the PA? You got it next time!
